Works with Time Warner ROAD RUNNER
Have had this modem set up on the Time Warner Road Runner network in Central NC for a couple of weeks now... NO ISSUES at all, works as it should. I consistently get 30 Mbps down and 5 Mbps up, which is what I purchased for service. When I purchased this modem I was looking for a bridge-mode modem without any features built in, I have an existing network and didn't want to make any changes to that (if it works then don't fix it); this unit has fit the bill. It has very little in the way of features, a simple web-based configuration page that lets you do little more than see the status of the unit (frequencies, channel usage and assignments, etc.); it will provide basic DHCP and NAT (private IP addressing to your computer) if that is something you are looking for, but will also operate in IP-Passthrough mode if you have a router already and want to avoid double-NAT problems. All in all a good DOCSIS 3.0 modem, they are simple and robust devices and most of the problems that people have with them are ISP related. I would recommend this to a friend in need of a simple, no-frills modem without the monthly rental charge from the cable company.

Spectrum
2024 update. Worked fine for 8 months now looses connection 30 or 40 times a day. GarbageWorks great for spectrum in Ohio. Spectrum phone rep gave me the run around saying it is not compatible. I packed it up to return. But I did a chat with Carlos at spectrum and he said it is compatible. Lo and behold I reconnected it and it works great! The unit did not come in new packaging 🙄. But it looks maybe like it's new? Reconditioned. I don't know. They say routers only last 5 years and this has been my experience.

Goodbye Cogeco, Thank you Cisco!
To start with, I am Canadian. I purchased this as it is the only docsis 3 Cogeco will allow a third party isp client to use in my area..I read below someone had issues as there are no instructions. You connect the cable line. You connect the Ethernet to either your router or your computer. You connect the power adapter. You give your s/n and mac address (on the bottom of the modem and on the box) They put it in their system and voile you have internet. You can download the user manual free from Cisco's website. The only problem I encountered was Cogeco delaying the input with lame excuses ie: we are back logged;, we put in the wrong mac address; the problem is the modem had been previously used with bell sympatico...really? sympatico dsl? Once my new provider got thru all that garbage, I was up and running. So far it is faster than what I had with the RCA Thompson. My kids say it is faster for both their phones and with the on line gaming. It is lightning fast when directly connected to my laptop and I noticed the speed decreased when hooked to my network but I think that is most likely due to possibly needing a faster router as it is a few years old or maybe just the wifi signal coming out of the basement.Anyway, so far I am happy with this modem and would recommend.

modem works great. No mandatory built-in wireless (xfinity) robbing me of ...
I purchased this modem about a month ago. Initially, I was told by Comcast support that the modem was not functional. After talking to them for an hour, I hung up and did a factory reset, I was then able to get to the activation screen. I believe Comcast's techs are trained to push modem rental instead of assisting with user-owned equipment. Make sure you do a factory reset if you have issues. After setup, modem works great. No mandatory built-in wireless (xfinity) robbing me of bandwidth and/or compromising my network setup. Plus, I no longer have to pay an extra $10 a month renting their device.

Frustrating at best
After trying a newer model of this modem first the DPC3010 and paying for overnight delivery I was told by Comcast it was not supported. Sorry. Check their site and they show this model modem by the exact number. Now two weeks later I get this modem. This isn't plug n pray by any stretch!! So far there are no working drivers for this device that I can find. The CD drivers simply don't work. Trying to find drivers for this on the Cisco web page is an absolute joke. The CD does nothing but pop up a PDF telling you to install the driver off the CD. That doesn't work. Seeing the first message about their software having KNOWN issues when you plug the CD in gives you little confidence that it will work.I am sorry I left Motorola for these two Cisco cable modem attempts. No luck so far and resorted back to the older model Motorola for now.Personally I give this nothing but thumbs down. Save your money in my opinion. As far as I can tell this is one of those models that has already reached the end of its' life and may have issues with Windows 7 64 bit.Unhappy camper.

When it works, it works great
Got this to replace my standard Comcast modem. Worked great for a while, then got hit by a power surge (through a surge protector, even). After that, the modem claimed it was getting signal for 3 days, though none of it was coming through. When Comcast sent a tech out after the 4th day of downtime, the modem would not stop rebooting itself.Ended up going to a local electronics store and purchasing a Motorola Surfboard modem instead, which had about the same setup time as the Cisco. Hoping this one lasts longer.
