Love it! Fattens up the sound just like it says.
Fantastic! Takes sharp, thin, dry snares and makes them Lucious, fat, wet and musical. Perfect. I also love their quesadilla!

Worked Like a Charm!
I have been a musician for 50+ years, but I am completely new to drums. My Yamaha snare had a very annoying ringing overtone. A drummer friend suggested using a dampener, and after reading a ton of reviews I chose this one. What a difference! Now I get that sharp "crack" when I hit my snare, and there is NO ringing overtone. Easy to install...takes about 2 seconds to lay it on the drum head and you're done. Practicing is much more pleasant now that I'm getting the right sound on my snare...

Good product-makes the snare deep.
I have a Ludwig Breakbeats kit that I’ll use to gig in smaller venues. I love the kit very much except for the snare. Just have a hard time tuning it and getting it the way I like. I decided to use this on that kit and I really like it. It will lower the pitch of your drum and take out the majority of the overtones. It also depends on the sound like you like. I usually tune my snare first and then put this on. I even went and bought a 13 inch and 10 inch BFSD for some other snares I have.

Does give snare a fat sound without retuning
I like it, usually use a studio ring or gels, but this gives better character. Takes out some volume though I would say

20 something bucks to make it sound like an 80's snare
So I took a chance on this thing. 20 something bucks to make it sound like an 80's snare? I knew it wasn't going to work. Well, man was I wrong. I really need to tune my snare, but just slapping this thing on it muffled all the echo and ring it had and it sounded 100% better. Can't wait to find time to tune the snare and then play some rock with this on it. Great product. seems well built. You're not paying $24 for a "piece of plastic." You're paying $24 for the incredible sound that comes from your snare with this thing on it.

Incredible for my 14 inch snare.
Very good. Better than noon gels. A nice fat snare sound

Easy solution for tough snares
Steve’s Donut from BFSD is a great pairing with my 14x6.5 Ludwig Supraphonic. Though this snare is already incredible and easily tunable on its own, the dampening this product provides is perfect for it. I tune this snare to have plenty of body and attack. The donut eliminated unwanted resonant frequencies and made room for the most pleasing ones. There are a lot of products out there that do not come close. I’d recommend this to all my fellow players.

A dramatic tone shaper for your snare
Using the BFSD is like having two different drums. Placing it on the batter head lowered the pitch of my Gene Krupa about a step, scooped the mids and tightened the (Sound Pure - recommended) snare sound. I am a recording engineer and I see the BFSD as a valuable recording tool. It makes the drum sound gated. There is a slight reduction in volume, and the BFSD invites you to hit a bit harder. I like the focus it gives to Hot Rods as well. A different sound palette from the same drum for $20. Tune your snare well first. Definitely worth a try!
