Easily solved a vexatious TV audio problem
When watching TV, I use a Sennheiser headset with an RCA-type input, but sometimes a Bose speaker with a laser-optical connection. This device handles both and requires no switching between regular and premium audio sources when installed properly. That is easy to do. It also left me with two additional optical inputs to spare.

Three to One Optical Switch with Optical, RCA Left/Right Line Ouputs, and mini-stereo headset jack -Shipped from China
My TV has only an optical audio output besides its internal speakers. I needed this as a simple solution to feed my existing wireless headphones and loop the optical output to my stereo optical input. I didn't really need the 3:1 switch in front but I can see that could be useful in many cases. I could have bought a single channel optical to RCA but then I'd also need an optical splitter to feed both the box for my headphones and my stereo. My Sony stereo has no RCA line outputs when fed from an optical source because Sony is excessively concerned about making it hard to record from optical sources. The good:Optical inputs, optical output, RCA Left & Right line out, fixed level headphone jack out.Includes one optical cable about 3 feet long (estimate) and the plug-in power supply. It works and solved my problem.Needs Improvement:The input select control is a little push button on the front that cycles through the 3 inputs when you push it momentarily. There is no remote. It would be most useful when used as a selector if it automatically selected the optical input that is energized - that way you could put this box out of sight and just turn on and off the source for the optical input and have it automatically select the input that is on. That would avoid having to put this box where you can get to the selector switch.Shipping is direct from China - It took 3 weeks to arrive, though that was well within the promised delivery date.

Connects headphones to TV
Had a pair of Sennheiser headphones I couldn't connect to my new Samsung tv because manufacturers have mostly stopped adding headphone jacks to the back of their new tv's. Googled how to connect these headphones and found loads of useless information. Called Samsung and they were useless. The rep at Sennheiser told me about this product and said to call him when I got it and he would walk me thru the hookup. It works great.

Pops and Clicks/Good Price
Easily connected Samsung 7 series TV to the item, then to older Sony receiver with the item's optical output jack, wireless Sennheiser headphones through the headset jack, and space-efficient Bose Cinemate speakers which only connect through red and white RCA plugs. Better sound all-around than I had from the old non-smart HD TV. But, the Bose speakers pop loudly with every pause in sound input, so I connected some Klipsch speakers to the receiver. The speakers driven by the receiver are not affected with the noise, although there is a muffled click through the headphones. I can live with the clicking, but not the popping. The item serves its purpose, connecting the modern TV to older sound equipment, but in a rudimentary fashion, in line with the price. Found another application for the Bose.

Great for New TV's w/o Composite Audio OUT
Previous six year old TV got hit by lightning and most new TV's DO NOT have internal audio splitters installed. If you have someone in the household who is "hearing impaired" and you need to listen to at different volumes levels, then you need a audio splitter like this WiiStar unit. It allows me to listen through the sound bar at low volume and the wife can listen through her Sennheiser Flex 5000 headset at a higher volume level. This splitter allows us to change volume levels or mute independently. NOTE: Tech support has no stars because I never needed their assistance.

WORKS WITH SAMSUNG SMART TV
I could not get my headphones to work because MY Samsung SMART TV has ONLY AN OPTICAL AUDIO OUT FOR SOUND. AFTER READING REVIEWS ON VARIOUS HEADPHONES, I CAME ACROSS THIS ADAPTER TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE. ALL I HAD TO DO WAS PLUG IN ONE END OF THE OPTICAL LIGHTED PLUG INTO TV AND OTHER INTO FRONT OF THIS AND THEN PLUG IN MY RED AND BLACK PLUGS FROM WIRELESS HEADPHONE SET INTO THE RED AND WHITE PORT IN REAR OF DEVICE. VOILA...PERFECT SOUND AND ALL I NEED TO DO IS TURN ON MY HEADPHONES. IF I MUTE TV, THE SOUND COMES ONLY THROUGH HEADPHONES. IF ANOTHER WANTS TO WATCH WITH YOU, JUST ADJUST VOLUME ON TV FOR THEM TO WATCH AND HEAR...SO HAPPY OTHER PEOPLE WROTE REVIEWS; WHAT A GOD SEND FOR ME.

Great concept
We loved having this do we can use our head sets to watch our smart tv apps along with regular tv shows. We have a soundbar and dish and needed this to add on so we can use our head setsUnfortunately it died 12/13mos later. Not sure if it’s the unit or cables that went inop. So for the cost will try buying another one

Perfect for what I needed
I recently changed TV providers and my headset wouldn’t work with the new TV box. So I called the makers of my headset (Sennheiser) and I spoke with one of their techs and he went on Amazon and found this switch box for me. I bought it, when it came I called the tech support at Sennheiser and we were done setting it up in under 5 mins. Now my headset works perfectly with my new TV box.
