I really like this fan.
I simply cannot understand how someone designing a product that may be used in a consumer's bedroom could decide to install indicator lights that light up an entire room. The lights on this fan are too bright, but this is an easy fix with some electrical or other opaque tape. That is my one gripe. This fan is quiet when it comes to fan noise. I prefer a bit of white noise while I sleep, and this provides it. I would not rate this as a noisy fan, but instead an acceptable level of fan noise. Even for a bedroom. If you need a quiet fan, this one might work for you. That said. It's certainly not silent. The in/out feature of this style of fan is very powerful. I have a small room with a single window, so creating a draft with the door closed is impossible. With the fan I am able to circulate the air in the room. The room feels cool and fresh even on a hot summer day. I had been using the A/C frequently, but since i had gotten the fan I have used the A/C twice. When it's around 95 degrees or warmer out I find I need the A/C. Otherwise, the fan does enough work! I haven't tested out the temperature feature just yet, as I prefer the fan always on for the white noise. This model did not arrive with a remote if I recall correctly. I wouldn't have used one anyhow. Overall, this is just an effective fan. Would recommend. Especially excellent for horizontal sliding windows as you can stand the fan up on its side. There are instructions with the fan as to what I mean if this is a new idea for you. Would buy again.

No problems
It meets my simple needs. The wings/sides extend wide to fit my wide windows. Having a button to reverse the direction of airflow means I don't have to physically flip it. Thumbs up. It comes with stands that I'll never use when placing it in the window frame. Air flow is good. It's not noisy.

Good exhaust fan.
I moved into a new place where its harder to step outside to smoke, as I will make a lot of noise climbing down stairs disturbing the family below. As a result I started smoking in my room and required a powerful exhaust for ventilation . I already had a pretty good exhaust fan from a brand called Duracraft (have a small table fan from the company too) , not really sure how I cam to own the thing but it worked like a charm and had enough functions to make it flexible to switch each blade manually in or out and each with its own power setting. Thing worked like a charm and kept the room fresh untill recently something knocked loose and seems to create a loud unpleasant squeal in one of the fans. lacking the tools and time for repairs I found a quick replacement from a dollar store. The $30 POS Comfort Zone replacement was a complete disappointment, not only it was completely featureless but the one thing it was to do it was quite weak at doing. And since sun has been invading the earth as of late, I have invested in an AC but cannot get rid of the pockets of stale smoke from the room. As a result I found myself on Amazon looking for another replacement from Duracraft. Either the company shut down or got bought out a while back since I could not find anything. The next best thing was this model being promoted on Amazon top picks and all accounts seem to confirm it at least is powerful enough to create good suction. I have had it for almost a week now and I can confirm it is a worthy replacement. Its remarkably silent on its highest settings and walking in to the room after work feels quite fresh. However, I do have to admit for the price I paid, I was a bit disappointed with the lack of options and flexibility as my beloved Duracraft. Not only can you not control speeds of individual fan, you cannot move the vents around to direct airflow. The knobs that switch the direction of the airflow feels a little brittle. I get the feeling fiddling with those things too often will result in the plastic knobs breaking in my hands. The thermostat is alright but not much useful for me as I just like to keep the thing on full blast on cool nights and open the adjacent window to let some fresh cool air in like tonight as I am typing this. The biggest thing is that the fan actually makes a electrical hum on lower speeds. Its almost as if the motor has to force itself to slow down. Like pushing the breaks on full throttle. None of this is a deal breaker as I mostly use it to push out smoke and stale air from the room so as long as it does the one thing it can do I can bear with the lack of options. I donated the 30 dollar replacement to the family downstairs as they have a habit of setting off the alarm when they cook. I was thinking about trashing the older model but this particular made me appreciate the option my Duracraft allowed me so I am thinking of cleaning it up and taking it to a repair store to get it fix so I can have two fans on each window for excellent airflow on cooler days when the AC is removed.

Powerful, Versatile, and Nearly Silent
The Genesis Twin Fan is an excellent choice for efficiently circulating air in any room. Installation was a breeze, and within minutes, I had the fans up and running. One of the standout features is the ability to control each fan separately, allowing you to customize the airflow direction. Despite their impressive power, these fans operate with minimal noise, ensuring a peaceful environment. The reversible airflow function is incredibly handy, enabling you to expel stale air or draw in fresh air from outside, depending on your needs. However, it's worth noting that the packaging could have been better. The box arrived slightly damaged, but fortunately, the contents were intact. Overall, if you're looking for an effective and versatile fan solution, the Genesis Twin Fan is hard to beat. It efficiently exchanges air in the room, keeping the atmosphere fresh and comfortable. Highly recommended!"

Works Wonderfully
Bought this fan for myself last year and was quite impressed with how well it worked. I have a small bedroom and it would make my room nice and cool and sometimes freezing cold. I didn't even have to put an a/c unit in my bedroom at all last year. I was so impressed with fan that I bought my parents one; they love it! The fans are big, which is a big plus. The duality of having one fan blow in and the other blow out is a major help. The noise level is not too bad, it's a fan, so it will make noise, but you get used it like any oscillating fan. The light on the fan is a little bright, but a simple cover up of tape takes care of that. Pulling out the sides is a bit tricky, however, and a little troublesome. There was one time when one fan stopped working; I read the reviews about this and worried that the fan was broken like everyone else. Luckily, the fan was just stuck. I was able to stick a piece of paper through and help the fan turn again and it's been great ever since. Overall I am very pleased with this fan.

Works great!
I read many reviews prior to purchasing the product. Many reviews claim the unit has an annoying hum on low and medium speeds, but not on high. That is not my experience. Yes; there is a low audible hum on low and medium speeds, but it is barely noticeable from across the room. Therefore, I have no complaints. As far as functionality, it's easy to assemble and the controls are easy to navigate. It's attractive in the window and easy to install. My bedroom faces west and in this Texas heat it can be miserable! I have yet to turn on my A/C yet and was looking for something to ease the pain until I turn on the A/C. This morning the outside temperature was 70 and I had the unit set to high with the temp setting on 65F. It actually blew cool air into the bedroom with the fan setting set to the "in" position to draw the outside air in. I was pleasantly surprised! Prior to installing the fan, my room temperature was showing 87F. After installing the fan, the room temperature is now 77. It's overcast today with rain expected, but I'm anxious to find out how the unit works with the setting set to the out position to draw out hot air. I will write another review later on that issue. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase for the money.

Good for vertical placement but there are some design flaws to be aware of
My review is based on mounting this fan into a sliding window, in the vertical position, in my bedroom right above my bed. Overall, it's a good fan but don't expect for it to be a permanent install and it does have some design flaws. I'm keeping mine since my use case is to only put it in the window when I need it, take it out when I don't and for the most part, it provides the functionality I need Positive: Expandable side panels have a locking mechanism. So you can mount it vertically without the panels collapsing. 3 speeds and multiple temperature degrees options. Airflow velocity is good. Not amazing but better than some other window fans I've had before. Fairly quiet but not as quiet in comparison to other window fans. Negative: Setting temperature negates the ability to change the fan speed to low/med/high. Using the temperature option will always put the fan on high. Attempting to set it to temperature mode then pressing the speed button turns the temperature mode off entirely. This is quite a negative which is the main reason for giving only 3 stars Cannot be mounted fully flush with any given window -- meaning you will not be able to cover all gaps due to the way the power cord coming out of the unit is placed. It comes out of the bottom of the unit, not the front. So when you close the window, the cord will get in the way of fully closing the window and create a gap. Even on low speed there's a mechanical hum that most fans don't have. It's not bad but don't expect to be able to sleep with it running if your window is above your bed.

It moves a high volume of air for its size
***UPDATE after one month of use*** I stand by all the details in my review below...but just want to add: I could not be happier with this fan. It appears to move more air--with less noise and more speed--than my old work horse Honeywell fan that I was replacing. If I had the choice to repurchase this fan...or my old Honeywell...I would choose this fan. *********************************************** This fan replaces my inherited Honeywell dual fan (it was at least 30 years old...probably older). It was powerful...and was made when most fans were still made with metal blades. Consequently, it was very powerful for its size. As far as I'm able to tell fans of this style are no longer made with metal blades. The modern version of this fan appears to have been discontinued. I used my fan mostly to cool my bedroom by setting it for exhaust in the window of another room... with the windows in my bedroom open. It was very effective for this and on all but the hottest nights allowed me to turn my A/C off. Using a fan to draw air in this way requires a fan with a high CFM rating. I looked at a lot of the fans of this style that are being made today. None have all the significant features of my old fan. This fan had most of them...reversible (with the ability to have one fan exhausting with the other drawing), locking expandable side panels to give a good fit (important if you are using for exhaust), and a high cfm capacity. Many of the fans now made don't even list their cfm rating...this one is listed at over 700. (By comparison the new Vornado Transom fan--that many sources are rating as the best window fan--only moves a measly 80 cfm. I have one of these...and I love it for certain things. But it is completely unable to move enough air to cool a room as I describe above.) The main thing this fan doesn't have is the ability--when using for intake--to direct the airflow for each of the fans with rotating grills. I LOVED this feature on my old Honeywell. No fan currently being made--as far as I could discover--has it. I would prefer that it didn't have the bright LED lights. But I can live with this. If I were keeping the fan in my bedroom, this would bother me. In the comments for this...and similar fans...there are a lot of complaints about the "cheap plastic." Fans are plastic now. This will always feel flimsy and insubstantial...particularly in one that is supposed to be light enough to sit in a windowsill. This one feels pretty normal in that regard. The comments about noise level are all over the map. Fans are noisy. I didn't see a decibel rating on this one...but I found this one to be less noisy than most. There are also complaints that it "doesn't cool." Fans don't cool. They move air. This one excels at moving large volumes of air. If you are trying to get cool air in...or hot air out... it does the job well.

It's not quiet, but it works well.
As the headline suggests, this is not a quiet fan. however, if you want a fan that does the job and don't mind that it needs to make a noise to do it, then this fan is for you. It works really well and the option to change the direction of the air is great. I have used this to bring cooler air in from outside and to move hot air out from inside. Overall, this is a good fan.

GREAT for 3D printing ventilation
First impressions are good. I bought this to ventilate my room while I 3D resin print. Although my 3D machine has a built in ventilation tube (as shown in pictures), the room still builds up fumes when printing, while i’m cleaning the prints and when I haven’t poured out the resin into it’s containers. This fan works great as it can suck out air in the room. I will eventually make use of it during the summer if rooms need to be cooled, since it works well with bringing in air from outside. The design could be tweaked, very minor but I wish that the temperature on the fan was displayed in Celsius too, only Fahrenheit temperatures are shown. I especially liked how it fits vertical and the extenders stretches enough to fit snug on my windows. In the pictures I have to make room at the bottom for the ventilation tube for my 3D printer, but the fan does stretch all the way down. As for sound, it’s comparable to a normal fan even on high.

Works very well, but the noise...
Got my fan today in preparation for summer and installed it into my window. The accordion wing 'tabs' that lock it are very difficult to open, I had to pry them to expand the wings to fit the window but it fits great. The second issue I noticed as I turned it on (low setting) was that it is extremely loud. I put it down to the 'turbo velocity' in the description?! I don't know, I'm not in any way an expert on what size motor runs what and the expected decibels would be. But I have purchased and used a lot of these types of fans in the past because I do not have air conditioning to rely on to stay cool during the hot summer months. I have tried Bionaire and Comfort Zone window fans, and they are quieter running on 'high' than this fan is running on 'low'. I chose this fan because of the price difference, this one was cheaper by about 30-80$ than the others that I was looking at. On the good side...I have noticed that this fan pushes much more air than previous ones I've used. It is more powerful. I have a large living room and can feel that it is much cooler in here after 15 minutes of use on the low setting in exhaust mode. It works in all functions and the buttons seem sturdy as this one does not have a remote. The colour is a bright white which looks nice in the window and fits in place even with my screen still in; so no bugs. So if you need it in an area where you won't be sitting right beside it like me, I would recommend this purchase as it does as it is supposed to very efficiently.

The best window fans
Love this fan. Much better than other models on the market. It's quiet compared to others. It has reversible blades to suck out the heat during the day and just a touch of a switch it blows in cool air in the evening. Who needs an air conditioner when you have this. It runs at different speeds and even can be set at temperature needed then will turn off when the desired temperature is met. I tried others but this one out does others on the market. Well worth the price.
