Caron Simply Soft Solids Yarn, 6oz, Gauge 4 Medium, 100% acrylic - Green - Machine Wash & Dry

Soft yarn that is easy to knit/ crochet and seems good value for money.

I've always liked the softness of Caron yarns but now, as an aging senior, it is a necessity for arthritic hands. Trying to do an intricate crochet stitch with a stiffer yarn left my hand in pain from YO's and pulling the yarn through multiple stitches - so back to Carol yarns for me. If I can find the color I need, particularly i the one pound skeins, it is Caron's for me! It's a trustworthy yarn.

Not sure what's up with this skein of yarn, but I'm glad I've used it in the past so my disillusionment is more of confusion.This skein is horrible. The only thing that's right with it is the color. For a 4 weight, it is thin. My H hook (the size recommended) is too big. The yarn is stiff, not soft at all. The 4 plies are in competition with themselves, seeing who can split and separate the best.Crocheting with this skein of Simply soft is a nightmare. Had I not used this brand in the past and been satisfied, this would totally turn me away from ever picking up another skein. Knowing what I know, I believe this is a defective item that was sold online because some sucker (me) couldn't see it first.sIt's nowhere close to soft, it was not a good value, and it is nowhere near a 4 in weight. But it is kelly green.

I absolutely LOVE Caron Simply Soft yarns!!! Excellent value, all of the various colors have a truly soft and silky feel to the touch, a beautiful satin sheen, rich vibrant colors, and sews so perfectly thru the #7 mesh plastic canvas that I'm using. I highly recommend this brand of yarn! Thank you Caron for a top quality product.

I was making an afghan for my grandson for Christmas. When I bought the yarn, I failed to buy enough of this Kelly green. My local stores no longer carried the Kelly green color, so I took a chance and ordered one from Amazon. Fortunately, Spinrite did a good job of making a consistently strong color so the one I bought online matched the dye lot I had already used. I finished it and my grandson loves his soft cuddly afghan.
