This balm was a game changer for my lips as regular chapstix coated them for a little while, but didn't do anything to make them feel better. This balm not only made my lips feel better, but actually helped heal them.

My son has been taking Accutane for 3 months for his acne. His lips were extremely chapped, cracked, peeling, and he could barely open his mouth to eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I ordered about 5 or 6 different lip creams from Amazon, including Aquaphor, Cerave, and Paula's Choice. While all of these brands worked all right, none could really heal the lips and only made his lips feel mildly better. Then my son tried the CortiBalm - and what a miracle! After one day, his lips were almost completely back to normal. He just loves it, and he puts it on every day - it has made his Accutane treatment bearable. One more story to tell - my son (who is 18) had his braces on his teeth throughout most of high school and all the way to the end of his senor year. He was keenly hoping to get the braces off before his high school graduation. A month or two ago, his lips were SO SORE that he told me that he couldn't even go to his orthodontist appointments anymore because he can't open his mouth. He had cracks that were just not healing, and opening wide enough for the orthodontist to check his teeth and put in new wires every 6 weeks was just too much for him to bear. Luckily, he started using the CortiBalm just in time, because on June 15th, my son got his braces off--Hurrah! And his lips were in great shape thanks to the CortiBalm. And then he graduated on June 17th, two days later. :)

I don't write reviews very often, but this product has been a lifesaver for my poor lips and I can't not share!!! I recently started taking isotretinoin and even at the lowest possible dose, my lips were so dry they were peeling, inflamed, and bleeding. I was using Aquaphor, Vaseline, Cortisone 10 creme, organic unscented Badger Balm, calendula salve--anything to try and help with the dryness--but it was still so miserable. I had to re-apply product every 15-20 minutes or my lips would crack and peel off. It was painful and your lips also look gross when they are that dry. So terrible! And then, I found Dr. Dan's Cortibalm. <<enter angels singing>> Oh. my. gosh. This is truly the only product that I have found that can give my lips any relief. Within just a couple minutes of putting it on, you can feel a difference. My lips look normal again and don't crack/peel/bleed!!! This also works better than a straight cortisone creme for me--I'm guessing because the cortisone is mixed with stuff that holds it in place (e.g. beeswax, petroleum jelly, etc), allowing it to work longer. I love that it is unscented (less irritants) and that it lasts so long. I still have to apply several times a day but this last so much longer...now I don't look like a crazy obsessive person slathering lip balm on every 15 minutes. If you are on or thinking about going on isotretinoin or if you suffer from very dry, chapped lips, you need this in your life.

Like many people that suffer from dry lips, especially in the winter time, I was fed up with cracked, bleeding lips with no relief. I tried everything, from medicated blistex to burts bees. Many of these brands were recommended. I then stumbled on Coritbalm, and one line hit home "When nothing else works". I am thinking, that seems like a lackluster marketing phrase. Oh no, friends. Exactly that. NOTHING worked. This is the only chapstick that does the trick and I will never go back. I have already convinced many people. I have been buying in bulk.
