OMT Rear Axle Bearing Puller, Rear Axle Bearing Remover Set

This was a cheap set, but comes in a decent case and works well!

Ignore the negative reviews about these they work as intended with a compatible slide hammer. The only concern I had with this tool was that the pins that hold the rocker in place that pulls the bearing are not seated properly or at least on the set I received were not. I was able to pull both rear axle bearing out. However upon removing the second bearing from the tool the pin on the rocker had partially popped out. I fixed this by using a flat punch and hammer to make sure it was back in place properly. Also make sure you have a compatible slide hammer. I assume I’m not the only one who has experienced quality control issues with this product overall happy with my purchase.

If possible, know the inside diameter of your axle and bearing to know the exact size you need to make sure the sizes included in this set meets your needs. In my case, the smallest one was a bit too small and didn't work well so I used the larger size which did not pull the bearing evenly, although it did the job. Quality is good and they worked well with my slide hammer.

Looked good but on the first use the puller broke striking me in the lip busting it open and I thought I had damaged a couple of teeth but fortunately they were ok. Use with extreme caution!! One star is way overrated. Definitely wear safety glasses and a face shield and gloves wouldn’t be a bad idea. Update: even though the puller broke and my opinion of this particular tool hasn’t changed I have to say this seller contacted me and made a full refund without me even asking for one. I have to say they went above and beyond to make it right. I won’t hesitate to give them another try in the future.

Put up with 5lb slider hammer and some hard to remove bearings. Bearings wouldn't budge before I tried this. Worth every penny. Be sure to snug the bolt down, give it a wiggle and check it is still snug. Easy to use. Quality is par at least for the home mechanic. I wouldn't do another axle bearing without this. Made the job much easier. Worked good for me, and reduced my effort. Still I would use a good slide hammer with a decent weight slide. 2014 Ford Raptor axle bearings with 100k miles of rough terrain for reference. Before the tool, tried old fashioned triple claw with no progress. After this tool, the job is done. The example above is so you know it wasn't an average job. You may sweat a little, but it will still be less than without the tool. Glad I have this set in my toolbox.

I "assisted", meaning I did most of the work, in replacing an axle on a dual-axle utility trailer, which I do not own. This is a nice tool set, and it appears to have everything I will ever need to do what most DIYERS are capable of doing. I have a keytag that says "I fix things, and I know stuff", and it was given to me by the person who had the wrecked axle. He was happy, and I'm done with this review. If you buy it, I doubt you will be disappointed.

These axle bearing pullers had a couple of issues, first off after you clamped it down onto the bearing they would come loose after a couple of blows with the slide hammer and would you have to re-tightened constantly, the bigger problem was that they were slightly oversized for the inside diameter of axle housing and I had grind the down the ends of the foot to make them fit properly which scared the housing, unfortunately for me I didn't discover this until I was until i was on the second bearing.

I don’t usually take the time to write reviews, but this tool definitely earned one. Going into this job, I honestly wasn’t expecting the best results. I was dealing with a stubborn axle bearing that was completely stuck, and I had already tried a few other methods. Once I got this puller set up, it completely changed the game. I put it through a pretty tough test, lots of solid hits with the slide hammer, and it held up extremely well. No slipping, no bending, just did exactly what it was supposed to do. In my case, the combination of the welding trick, a bit of heat, and this puller was the only way I was getting that bearing out. Without this tool, I’d probably still be fighting it. Really impressed with the durability and how well it performed under pressure. Definitely worth having in the toolbox.

Used this once so far and worked excellent. Fit my slide hammer perfect and pulled the bearings out easily.
