How long is the stem? I am looking of 1" long stem

The stem is 7/8" long and the shaft movement is 9/16"

Does reading return to zero after auto shut off or is the value held when gauge is turn back on?

I just checked it out, 5 min showing a number on readout then it turned itself off, I pressed on button and it reset to a new zero. If possible, nudge it slightly to make numbers bounce on the DRO after a few minutes to keep it from turning off. Sorry. Auto shutoff is a PITA. Would be neat if they had a way to turn it off.

What is the stem diameter of the gauge? I need to ensure the gauge will fit in our current fixtures without modification.
