Will these perform well on a smooth wooden desk, without a mousepad?

I would probably recommend trying to find glass skates for your mouse if your not using a mousepad..especially on wood. I'm not sure the Plastic feet would hold up very long on wood.

Can you make sure that these ship between a couple of pieces of cardboard, or better yet in a box? They don't survive in a bubble mailer…
