Though it still charges, the male plug is too long. The Velcro strap is too short to wrap around both cords, much less the power box as well.

I'm usually weary of buying non-oem power adapters; if it's too cheap, it can be too much of a quality/safety risk. But, I thought I'd take a chance after seeing the good reviews for this one and the middle-range price. After using it for almost a month, I haven't had any issues. In fact, it seems to run cooler than the official Dell one! The cable is very sturdy and I was pleasantly surprised to find the tip is an elbow style (not straight tip as in the photo). I much prefer the elbow style, since it feels more secure when plugged into the notebook and it's less likely to bend (like my former Dell one did after a clumsy moment). The charger itself is also fairly compact, with a convenient light to indicate when it's plugged in. The only other difference from the official Dell ones is the wall plug; this is 2-pronged instead of 3-pronged. Overall, it does the job and I saved a few $$, so what's not to like? :)UPDATE: 4 months later and it's still going strong! Not a complaint at all :) Still runs cooler than the original charger, too!

So far so good. Shipping was super fast and the price was very good. I've had it now about 3 weeks and no problems at all. I'm using it for a 3 year old laptop with Windows 8 that unfortunately can no longer be updated to Windows 10 for free, but when the charger originally malfunctioned after only 6 months of use, Dell gave me the runaround about getting a new one. They said I'd have to ship the laptop back so they could service it, even though there's a serial number and an Express service code on the label. I didn't need it right away so i just put it away and forgot about it. But now i do need another laptop and the new charger is helping get some life out of this one. I won't be needing to run out and buy a new laptop any time soon, thanks for that.

It was great and it fixed my battery issue. On the down side it overheats on long term usage.

After having my old Dell laptop since I was 16, I decided it was time to buy a new one, a 2 in 1 style, when I got a new job. I'd had it a grand total of two lovely months when it decided that it couldn't recognize the power cable. I sent it off to Best Buy, as it was still under warranty. It came back with a clean bill of health....and still didn't recognize my cable. I ordered this in a fit of desperation. Guess what? Fixed it. My laptop knows what this is, and it works perfectly. 5 stars for keeping me from throwing it out a window.

I was skeptical about buying this power cord for my Dell thinking it may not work. Fortunately, it works great charging my Dell Inspiron 7000 laptop. Dell wanted to charge me $65 for this cord. This was a great buy for me.

Cord worked ok for two weeks, then started working on and off. After a month it stopped working completely, absolutely no charge.Seller checked up on the product, sent out a replacement. No questions, no nonsense.
