I absolutely loved this book! I thoroughly loved the Cold Harbor series and am so thankful Susan Sleeman has started a new series, Truth Seekers, with all of our old friends from Cold Harbor playing a background role in this series.I love that she has intertwined faith and prayer throughout the whole book! One of my favorite parts of the book is; "God’s working in the background, you’ll see. It’s just like with the gangsters I work with on my undercover work. They don’t see everything going on in the background to keep me safe when I go in. But my supervisor plans and chooses the right team to monitor me. And the tech team makes sure my equipment works. We have a code word that I simply have to utter for them to come running. Same with God. We don’t see all of the things He’s doing in our lives. All we have to do is utter that code word—pray—and He’s there to comfort us or give us what we need.”I love that! And it's so true! God is working in the background to help us so we don't need to interfere with His work by doing something on our own without praying and listening to God.This book also shows us what's happening in our world and our home towns. Drugs and trafficking. Weather it be human trafficking or drugs it's very serious and needed to be brought to our attention.Thank you Susan for Dead Silence.Angel

While working undercover, DEA agent Devon saves a young boy from being kidnapped. Kf course, he has to wait for the police to take his statement. He meets young Jace and his beautiful Mother, Dr. Kelsey Moore. It turns out that she has been a widow for shortly over a year. Why would anyone try to kidnap her son? She has no clue, but is terrified for the boy she is trying to adopt since he isn't her biological son, but rather her stepson by marriage. As she begins to search her husband's paperwork looking for Jace's original birth certificate, she finds troubling papers. Since Devon is in law enforcement to begin with, he offers to help her. Twists and turns galore are the rules of this story. Romance awakens in the midst as well. Oh, even dead people crop up! Thankfully there is also those who know God has good plans for His own. He always carries our burdens, even though we are not always aware of it.

Susan Sleeman is one of my favorite authors and doesn’t disappoint. Dead Silence is the second book in the Truth Seekers series and every bit as good as the first. The opening scene grabs you from the start and has your heart pumping right along with Kelsey as her son is grabbed off the street. The action in this book ramps up from there and never lets go. This one keeps you guessing from beginning to end. Along with great suspense you get a romance that builds tension throughout the story as Kelsey and Devon are drawn to each other but both held back by previous relationship issues and Kelsey’s fear of losing her son. Add in the well-developed characters from the Veritas Center and visits from some old friends from Blackwell Tactical and you have a winner. This one is well worth the read and highly recommended. You won’t be disappointed.

Kelsey’s a widow working as a forensic archeologist and legal guardian of her late husband’s son, Jace. When someone attempts to kidnap Jace, an unknown man rescues him and calls the police. Devon’s a DEA Officer and working undercover to bring down a gang dealing drugs. Devon flies into action when he sees Jace being carried toward a van. As she pursues adopting Jace, Kelsey’s attorney finds out that Jace isn’t her late husband’s biological son. Who’s trying to take him? Is this connected to the gang Devon’s trying to take down? Will Devon be able to keep Kelsey and Jace safe? This is a great story filled with grief, distrust, suspense, reliance on God and a blossoming romance. I’ve loved this series and look forward to the next book!

This was an interesting story with a view to how forensics work in the field. These are well written and researched and have great characters. I love how they can work following leads yet go through trials with a lot of support for one another and overcome their past fears to move on. I love reading stories that have the same core characters and meeting their new partners as they do their jobs.

I loved this book by 1 of my favorite authors! Fast-paced action with lots of twists and turns, kidnappings, human trafficking, and so much more. It was fun getting reacquainted with the Cold Harbor gang as well as the Veritas crew as they came together to solve 1 mystery after another! I highly recommend this clean romantic suspense!

I couldn't put this book down. I love how this series links to the last series of books. It is great reading and getting to know the same characters over time. My only complaint - please write and publish books at a faster pace!!

I loved the thrill & excitement of this story and the romance between the two main characters made my heart sing! My only wish is to read more about them further down the track - perhaps epilogue 2, 3 etc!

Kelsey, Devon and Jace's story is most certainly full of suspense with a very unexpected twist. The story line will touch you deeply.
