After months of chiro and trying to get a spasm to release
Didnt have super high expectations but was determined to find some kind of relief from this spasm running from my neck down to below my left shoulder blade. This knot was like a rock hard tube of rubber that no matter how much theragun, ice, icyhot, emu oil etc got used, it would not release. Used the physio max on the spot and instantly half my back went into a twitch fest for about 3-5mins of all the muscles in the scapula and between the shoulder blade and spine waking up and twitching. Def works great on the persistent/nothing else has worked muscles. I just laid down on it for about 10mins and my back feels the best it has in months, still some more points need releasing but, I can actually feel my shoulder again getting some oxygen/blood flow instead of the squeezing dull achey dying muscle feeling of the chronic spasm that I live with daily due to scoliosis issues. So glad I now have a tool like this to assist with those insane, right between the shoulders spasms. Best way to use it while on the couch or in bed I have found is with a textbook behind you for support. When used with a textbook or a cutting board, it can't sink into the couch or pillows as much and can be used while laying down comfortably instead of just on the floor. I fell asleep with it under my shoulder the other night and a good eight hours on the knots, I can finally look left to right without feeling like there is glass in my neck and shoulder. I also recommend taking it in the car for driving. I do deliveries and because I hold the steering wheel mainly with my left arm, it gets tighter but with the tool under the shoulder blade my whole shift, the muscles simply can't get all spasmed up like they usually would. It also helps to keep bottles of water in the freezer and alternate between the lockeroom tool and a rock hard frozen bottle of water. The frozen water bottle helps get the inflammation down and can also be used as a roller on the spasm while freezing it and reducing swelling simultaneously. Then if you have the heat wraps that you can microwave, use those for a half hour, then use lockeroom tool again. Worked great for me, woke up today with back loosened up and 95% pain free vs. before I got this tool, I looked like a bear, trying to rub and crack my back on anything pointy nearby for some relief. If not sure about getting it, can always try it for the cost since it's cheaper than almost all other pain relief options and unlike a cream that runs out constantly, this thing will probably last my whole lifetime since it is pretty heavy duty and solid. I don't think I'll need another muscle pain reliever device ever again so I am very pleased with the overall value of this purchase.

Simple and effective. Wish i had this years ago.
I have struggled knots and spasms in my upper back ever since I got out of the army 13 years ago. I've literally spent thousands on chiropractors, masseuses, TENS units, doctors visits, foam rollers, lacrosse balls, softballs, medicine balls, and other massage gadgets. Despite that, I've always ended up using stair handrails, bed posts, or a chair to try to pop my back to get any relief.None if that truly helped by back issues. The chiropractor helped the best out of those remedies, but going several times a week was getting expensive, plus it just offered relief until the next visit. The lacrosse ball comes close, but it rolls around preventing it to focus on the pain spot often under my shoulder blade.I read the reviews and did some research, and thought, what the heck, 20 bucks is chump change compared to what I've paid so far treating my nagging back issue. I bought this and a couple yoga blocks (as recommended by a few purchasers) on Amazon. And wow, was I surprised.Immediately I could feel the hard to reach knots giving away with a pleasing stretching then popping sound. It gets to places in my upper back, particularly below the shoulder blade, that only a masseuse can get to and does a better job focusing on the pain point. Had this thing been around in 2008 when I started having back pain, I would have saved myself thousands of dollars and months of time. It works fine on the floor or a yoga mat. But if I need to get deep, I put it on a yoga block maximizing the effect. I've only had it 2 days and the usual pain has dropped dramatically and my core motion has improved. A estimate a few more days of treating myself with this, the pain will effectively disappear with me using this for maintenance and not pain relief. If you have serious lingering back pain and have tried every other consumer good to help with the pain, go ahead and spend the measly 20 bucks asap and have Amazon ship this to your door. This is truly a life changing product if you struggle with pinched nerves and back spasms.

Affordable Option for Targeting Tightness and Knots
I purchased this product in order to target some specific tight knots in my lower back and glutes. I regularly use a lacrosse ball to help alleviate tension in my back, but I wanted something that would allow me to target a specific spot with more pressure. Overall, I think this product is a good value and works fairly well. I generally use it by placing it on the wall and pressing myself up against it. The material does not slide/move around, which is great. It is not quite as firm as I anticipate, so it has a slight amount of give. However, I am able to successfully target knots and push with great pressure into them. I would recommend this product if you need something that allows you to be more aggressive than only using a lacrosse ball or foam rolling. It is also quite small and easy to transport, which makes it convenient to bring on long travel days.
