You might need to add a little water to keep it from clogging up when flowing with a glass pen.

Do these inks come in individual boxes within the set?

Yes they do. Very cute bottles each in its own box with charming graphics. The inks are beautiful jewel tones with a pleasing sheen. Our family has been very happy with these for a variety of art and calligraphy projects.

What is the opacity of the non-black inks? Are calligraphy overstrokes obvious?

Hi Florida Guy! I feel the overstrokes are not noticeable when fully saturated, but sometimes you can see a tiny bit when ink is running low
