Q: Does this come with a cartridge, a converter, or both?

Mine came with 1 cartridge and a squeeze-type converter. The Pilot Con-50 piston type convertor sold separately is far superior to the squeeze-type. The Metropolitan is a great pen.

Q: I purchased the recommended cartridges; however, does it install opposite than most; puncturing the large end? It’s been a mess!

Not the tapered smaller end, but to round end with a sunken area. That part goes into the pen and push until there is a click. If you use brute strength I guess you could have a mess. The pen has a pin inside that punctures the plastic in the cartridge. but the tapered end is going to be pretty messy if you try to puncture that!

Q: Does the ink smear or does it dry fast?

It dries fast that is if you use the pilot ic100 ink. It is a wonderful pen. Using Lamy as a reference, this is better.

Q: How can I write a review about the cap falling off all the time when it’s too late to return?

Repair the cap to the pen then write your review.
