Great Replacement, BUT You Must Transfer the Passive Transponder from the Key Section as Well.
This was a perfect replacement to my worn out fob, which had broken off rubber where the buttons should be. The new buttons are a tougher rubber more consistent with newer GM fob's. Hopefully that means it'll last longer than the old soft rubber ones I'm replacing.IMPORTANT NOTE: Inside the key section (A Section) (See Owners Manual) of your original fob is a Passive Transponder (See Picture). This transponder needs to be carefully transferred over to the new fob. To open that section you must undo the screw in the Pontiac symbol hole (this is very apparent on your new fob, since the sticker isn't applied yet), and just requires popping the symbol sticker off the old one. You will see the rectangle transponder inside to one side. Mine didn't want to come out willingly and I was forced to carefully cut around it with a dremel tool. I didn't want to damage it by prying with a screw driver or other sharp object. Once you un-lodge the passive chip, simply insert it into the new fob in the appropriate space, and while you are at it, save some money on cutting a new key and transfer the key part of your old fob over as well, works perfectly. Make sure to properly load the spring when inserting the key section so that it will pop out when pressing the button. If you have about 15-30 minutes of patience this replacement works wonderfully. If you fail to move that transponder over to the new fob, your car will enter Engine Immobilizer Operation, and won't start. Needless to say this happened to me, until I discovered the passive chip. Also if the A section (Key section) of the fob is still in good condition, you can always just keep that part and click it into the new B section (Buttons) once you transfer the remote insides over.My entire fob was in pretty rough shape so it was worth the time to replace the entire shell.

Great quality product which requires a little skill and patience to assemble (and a transponder)
Product quality is very high matching OEM standards. The pieces snap together well with a solid feel and don't wiggle around. The included decal is also high quality and appears to have a strong adhesive. I didn't use the included key blank, but instead transferred the key from my original unit and all the moving parts fit perfectly including the spring and rotating/locking mechanism. My main complaint is the small screw holding the unit together was too tight and started to strip easily - I had to try three different sized screwdrivers to get it out very gingerly. My only other complaint, like others have said, is the buttons are more like plastic than the OEM rubber. I had replaced my originals not that long ago, so I just reused that portion of the key and it snapped together fine. Overall, you can't beat this product for the price, provided you are willing to put in a little effort and time disassembling your old key to Dremel out the transponder and transfer the key if you want to.

Works as describe, pain to remove old chip
I had the blade cut, I switched internals from my key to this key, I programmed it, the buttons work fantastic, the car started great, I put the car in gear and service immobilizer message came on veh cut off. I have tried to program it with factory GM computer from dealer and same issue. Well I found out after some research that the old key has a chip that needs to be cut out and installed in this key. If this came with a note telling you this I would have given it a 5 star
