Performance Tool W2998 Digital 12 Volt Portable Battery Analyzer (200-1200 Battery Types: LA, AGM, and Vrla), 1 Pack

Purchased this for my 78 trans am. I have now thrown it out as the it is junk. The light is erratic the advance adjustment doesn’t work. And the rpm shows 3300 while while it is sitting there idiling but shows 750 on my tach. I went and purchased another Basic timing light at half the price and that one works perfectly. Don’t waste your time and money

This works really well. Plug it into the cigarette lighter socket and it tells you the condition of the battery and alternator. Straight forward and no guessing. I find the green light somewhat dim compared to the yellow and red, though. Not a big deal - just an observation on the one that I got.

DO NOT NEED TIMING LIGHT MUSH ANYMORE SO VERY LATE IN USEING IT.Unit worked for 1 minute did not get first timing job done before it would not flash. RPM reading still works display works but without light Junk. Had to get out my 35 year old timing light to finish job.

Sturdy. Heavy cables. Used several times since receiving... Works great. No issues whatsoever.

I bought this timing light for my Jaguar V12 engine. This has to be one of the worst engines to time as it has to be checked from under the car with the engine running at 3000 rpm. Plus the battery is in the trunk so my thought was the single wire, self powered design would be ideal. I received the timing light in the standard blister pack that everyone hates but to my surprise it popped open easily. First thing to check was whether the wire was long enough to reach from the plug wire, around the engine and underneath. Happy to discover it reached ok. Popped in a set of new batteries and got to work. This light worked just fine with only one caveat; the light is just not bright enough. Under the car in the garage with I was able to check timing but I can imagine difficulty in brighter situations. I docked 1 star for this reason only. Other than that i would recommend this timing light.
