Clay bar your car now!
I have been wanting to clay bar my car for along time as I have always read and heard that it is one of the best ways to get your car as close to a show room finish as you can get. After washing my car as I would normally, I ran my hand over it and although the dirt was gone, you could still feel that the surface of the car was still rough to the touch. I cut a piece of clay from the supplied bar, smaller than a ping pong ball. I followed the instructions and wet it with the supplied spray and began to rub down the car. Well the results are incredible. The areas that I have gone over with the clay bar felt as smooth as glass just like it says. It takes a little more work to get some of the tar spots off but persistence pays off and it does get it off in the end. The small piece did the entire car and would probably do more as well. So one pack of this will allow you to give your car a proper clean a number of times. The spray smells great too which is a bonus. Word of warning though, once your car is this clean you will notice how many stone chips and scratches your car actually has, at least you can do something about them once you see them though!

Very easy, great results
Selling my mums car, so thought I'd detail it as it's very low mileage but the paintwork said otherwise. I've never clayed a car before and thought I'd give it a go. It was very easy and took very little effort, now my mums car looks showroom condition, very smooth and shiny. I can't wait to use the rest of the clay on my car which is black and a hard colour to work with, I have plenty of spray and clay left to do that. The only thing I thought is the clay could have been a little more subtle, it was a little hard to work to start. Although 2nd best detailing product I purchased to detail the car. As a beginner, I would recommend getting a starter kit and recommend this product

Loving the clay bar, the spray isn't needed.
A good sized block of high quality clay bar. Given how infrequently you need to clay your car which is maybe 3 times a year, or less if you also paint protect with wax or a similar coating, the clay bar provided will last for potentially a few years. The spray is good but not essential. You can fill up a clean spray bottle with some car shampoo and water to have the same effect really - it's just a clean smelling lubricant. The clay works well, and didn't actually take me that long to get a nice smooth feel to the paintwork. Kneading the clay so you can get to a clean bit of it needs some strength - not at first, but after kneading it 20 times, your fingers start to ache but that isn't Meguiar's fault, it's just how clay is!After claying, I used Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax to a reasonable depth of shine. It wasn't mind-blowing, but given you have to pay triple the cost of the products I used to get that sort of shine - it's well worth doing yourself, not just for cost saving but also for pride / enjoyment!

Good price, use in the right situation
This is a good product but I would advise anyone getting into this for the first time - who is planning on claying the entire vehicle - to think about using some soapy water in a clean bucket as lub for the claybar. This bottle will be all gone in no time if you're applying good enough amounts to keep the clay well lubed.I keep the bottle for claying certain panels etc. When I do the entire vehicle, it's more efficient - providing you've got a good quality car soap the produces lots of suds - to simply fill a clean bucket after washing and use that instead. Save yourself some money and providing there are lots of suds, you get great quality lube.Another side note, the claybar is on the small side but this is a starter kit so...

Just as good as I remembered
Decided to go back to the clay bar after cheaper alternatives didn't do as they promised for tar removal. The clay bar is just as good as I remembered. Knowing you can put some force into rubbing the tar spots off and it won't scratch your paintwork is great. It removed all sorts of other contaminants too and really did leave the car surface feeling like glass. As others have said, I don't feel the spray entirely necessary, normal car shampoo or even water did the trick for me. And remember to wash and then wax the area. The clay bar takes off everything, including your wax layer.
