This was purchased as a gift. I loved that it had the first stanza of the poem printed in full on the reverse of the lid since this poem has a special meaning for the recipient.The compass itself has a nice heft and is quite striking. The lid is a bit difficult to put back on once it's been removed, though, and the 'leather' case is a bit flimsy-looking, which is why I took off a star.

This is an awesome gift for all Lord of the Rings fans. I has to take a star off because the word "does" on the inscription is misspelled as "dose." Fix the spelling and you'd have a winner here.

Compass looked great, but the needle is extremely wobbly and will get stuck if not held completely flat. My boyfriend loved the look of the compass and carrying case, but unfortunately probably won't use it because of the needle.

The inscription on the inside is spelled wrong, other than that it is gorgeous! Not really something that I can get over tho :)

This compass with its case & thoughtful inscription made the perfect gift for my High School graduate.

If I could give this negative stars I would. Flimsy and cheap. Looks like a toy and does not work. The dial is fixed in one spot and hand is bent. It's junk... Just a toy.

Fast delivery time. Compass was really nice but case fits really tight. Took a bit to both remove compass and put it back in. Case looks nice just a bit small I think.

The product looks lovely but I am very disappointed that this arrived with the wrong message engraved in the back. This was to be a special gift for my Hubby on Christmas day and as its Christmas Eve it is too late for me to do anything about it.
