Q: Does this electric grill have a lid cover ?

The advertisement says it has a slightly domed lid yet people are saying it doesn’t have a lid. Did anyone get a lid with their?

Q: Please tell me how this differs from a Raclette grill. Based on your experience would you prefer 1 over the other, why?

I don't know a Raclette grill. But right now I'm not happy with the MaxiMatic. After just a few uses it now shuts down after just a few minutes. I had to unplug it, wait a few, then plug it back in. Contacted customer service Sept 4, said it sounded like the thermostat and they would probably replace it but haven't heard anything since. Right now, I no longer recommend the MaxiMatic.

Q: Has anyone had a problem with the light not going off? The light did not go off at all but after 10 min, I cooked steaks.

Is the light suppose to go off? I would assume if the light goes off it drops below operating temperatures since it illuminates when hot and ready. Or is it the other way around?

Q: Is the watt 1400 or 850 watt?

It's wattage is adjustable as the temperature increases. I do believe max temperature could be as high as 1400 watts. On a15 amp service it never tripped a breaker.
