VIRTUESmooth Shampoo & Conditioner Set

I bought this shampoo and conditioner set after seeing great reviews on the internet. I had high expectations for a shampoo and conditioner set that cost $102. I typically buy salon products. Sometimes I mix it up with others I like as I find them.The shampoo smells almost chemically....not a typical fragrance for a shampoo. My hair felt smooth and clean when I washed it. After the first wash I noticed chunks of my hair falling when brushing my hair after getting out of the shower. Sometimes that happens to me when I have knots...but this was significant more than that. I didn't want to immediately assume it was this product. However this became a theme the next 2 times I used it which really concerned me. I spaced put a couple days between washes.I dont know if there is an ingredient in it that reacts to processed hair. By the 3rd used when I dried my hair it was not only fuzzy (as it was the other two times) but my hair had tiny krinkles and the color treated parts of my hair were elasticity.My scalp was irritated as well by this time. The next day I went to my stylist for my regular appointment. She told me she has never seen my hair in such bad shape! (I have been seeing her every 7 or 8 weeks for the past 3 years). I had to have my stylist put in a leave in treatment they offer at their salon and I bought my regular shampoo and condition from them along with a jar of hair repair mask they sell.I can happily say that following these treatments my hair is back to its soft and shiney condition. I obviosluy returned these items. I wish I had taken pictures!!!! I bought the light pink set (Smooth).

This product line came up when I was doing research on best products of wavy/frizzy hair. I used to have very curly hair but after my second pregnancy it relaxed into loose waves. But not smooth waves, which would look great, but frizzy waves. This product line is supposed to be smoothing but it does not work for me as advertised. One thing to note is that I don't use any heat on my hair and only rarely use styling products, so I know that the lacking end result was a direct result of the Virtue shampoo/conditioner. I wish I could return it because of the expensive price tag, but obviously I've used it.The one thing I like about it is that the shampoo leathers very beautifully with a very small amount. My hair falls nearly to the small of my back and less than a dime-sized amount of shampoo cleans it all.

Expensive but it lasts a long time because you don't need to use much. Love it!

The product smells nice, however, I haven't really noticed a difference in my hair texture. Perhaps it works on other hair types but not for coarse dark hair.

Switched from Aveda Sap Moss to this brand. This stuff is silky-smooth and really helps fight summer frizz.It is also super concentrated. I use about 1/4 what I did with Aveda per shampoo & I also find I can go longer between shampoos.I note this because while it seems expensive up front it does last a long time.
