Powerful resource to understand the crossroads of faith and culture in America today
My friend Lucas has written an important and powerful book that offers a necessary β and admittedly uncomfortable β examination of what's being taught, shared, and promoted by too many of America's churches. We cannot just let this issue slide by, thinking someone else or some other generation will fix it.This is our duty. We owe it to our kids (and to those who came before us) to be faithful to the Gospel and fight the good fight, finish the race, keep the faith.Lucas' new book will help you do just that.

Timely and Challenging Book
The Christian Left Is a very timely and important book. It challenges the Christian no matter where they may fall on the political spectrum. It makes you ponder whether your politics is shaping your Christianity or whether a biblical Christianity is shaping your politics. It is very obvious the amount of research put into this book as evidenced by the 416 foot notes. It is a difficult read, not because it isnβt written well, but because it was written so well that the author is asking the reader to actually think while reading. That is something I have not run across in the many Christian and leadership books I have read over the years. I highly recommend The Christian Left.

Not a great start
I purchased this book at the request of a friend who had been posting fallacies of logic and repeating rhetoric that hinted of Christian nationalism. Super nice guy who has demonstrated a love for Jesus and others. I wanted to give other viewpoints due diligence even though my research and Bible study over this past year has been thorough. I typically do not waste energy adding to my outrage by intentionally reading or watching content once they have shown to use bad hermeneutics, misleading information or fallacies to make their points. I intend to read this entire book and write a thorough response that I will publish online. After the first 2 sentences in the preface, which already mislead by their implications, I am not hopeful that it will be a pleasant experience. I do expect to find nuggets of truth throughout because whenever Christians write and use scripture I would expect some truth to shine through. I will change my rating if the book proves to be better than the first part of the preface.

Take cover! Truth bombs are falling!
Better fasten your seatbelts and strap your helmets on! Pastor Lucas Miles does NOT play games with the truth bombs he drops in his new book! EVERY man or woman claiming to be a pastor or purporting to lead a Christian congregation MUST read this book, look hard and deep inside and ask themselves the following question before the next time they step in front of the pulpit and open their mouths before their flock: βIs my take on politics shaping my view of Christianity and what I preach or is my take on Christianity shaping my view on politics and what I preach? π€

Insightful perspective
Lucas Miles offers an insightful perspective regarding our current American cultural angst. Left, Right, Middle β how did we get so divided? Is there any cure? How can people of good faith help to bring healing rather than give in to the temptation to unplug?

An Important Book
This is an essential book for understanding how we got where we are β and where we're going. Lucas Miles is a master at unpacking these important truths.

On time word.
An on time word for the church and a must read for Christians to understand the harmful influence of the left on the teachings of Jesus and the distortion of the Gospel.

Great start!
I've read the first 47 pages of the book so far. This book has challenged me to shape my politics from biblical perspective, rather than shaping my beliefs about God from human politics.
