Q: How does this do for side sleepers? Our biggest problem with camping is waking up with sore hips..

My hips get sore, I'm a side sleeper too. But I have not had a camping pad that doesn't give me sore hips. Just did 8 nights on this pad. It's pretty decent

Q: whats a good double wide sleeping bag to use with this? something rated for under 20 degrees.

Sort of a double-wide, but I have used two fleece-lined sleeping bags from LL Bean, zipped together, when I go out with my wife. I wouldn't take those sleeping bags on a long, multi-day excursion (weight and all), but it is good for car camping. If you can't find anything already large enough, try finding ones that you can combine by zipping them up together and check the width dimensions to ensure it is wide enough.
