Emooqi Watercolor Paints Set, 12 Colors Metallic Glitter Watercolor Paint

These paints are a great value for the money. The tin they come in is not only cute, it is very easy to handle. I bought these to use on a road trip. The tin container is small but has enough room on the inside to use as a pallette. There are three areas to mix paints if you take out the part that holds the paints; there is an embossed area beneath that with four additional areas to mix colors. The colors are beautiful and richly pigmented. I have metallic paints from other well-known known companies that are not as heavily pigmented as these and only show up on black paper. These paints not only look gorgeous on black paper, but also show up quite easily on white paper. That is what really sold me on these paints. At the same time i ordered this set i also ordered a traveling water color set from another company. They came in the same kind of tin! I have mixed these metallic paints with the watercolors from the other set with stunning results. The price is great for what you get. They're definitely worth the while.

THIS SET COMES WITH TWO WATER BRUSH PENS, A FLAT AND ROUND & 4 SWATCH CARDS ALL NEATLY TUCKED IN A BLACK "VELVET" POUCH WITH A VERY SWEET THANK YOU NOTE. THE SECOND PAINTING WAS A STARY NIGHT SKY. I ADDED THE SILVER METALIC TO MY WHITE GOUASCHE PAINT AND WOW, IT LIT UP THOSE STARS MAKING THEM REALLY POP!

The little travel case is great and I have had no leakage with the waterbrushes during my first try. The brushes are just too long with the lid on to fit in the travel case, but they fit perfectly next to the case inside the black pouch, so that's not much of an issue. If I want to bring my paints when traveling, I think I will limit the iridescent pans to one side and replace with plain halp pans on the other side, for a more rounded palette. I have only tried the colours on white paper so far, and not yet on the included cards. Some colours are mislabled, but still the colours that are there are beautiful. In my colour swatch I wrote a question mark after the label on those that seemed mislabled. I think I will just go with what I got, as more browns/metal shades are probably more useful to me than the missing shades anyway. The pink is very sheer but has a very good sparkle to it, even if that's not caught on my photo. It may be hard to replace pans that run out though, if you can't trust the labels, so I would not rely heavily on specific paints from this set. The paints layered beautifully over my W&N cotmans too, for a bit of sparkle, but I was not successful in re-wetting and picking up where the sparkle got too much, so be sure to think through where to use it before you lay it down.

As you can see from the photos, these metallic paints put a very nice sheen on top of my mixed media of gouache and ink. I’ve had these for a couple of weeks, and I’ve been playing with them a lot. So much fun and the colors are beautiful. They blend nicely. They flow smoothly and they look great as an overlay. I am so pleased and I highly recommend these. They come with a cute little velvet pouch and a couple of water pins. There are also swatch cards in black and whit included. That’s a nice plus. I will definitely buy This brand again.

As other reviewers have said, these are quality paints. They cover well if you need something rather opaque, and they dissolve well if you are looking for a smooth wash. They also are non-staining, so they can be lifted off the paper with a wet brush. If you are wondering, the metal case is solid black on the outside and white on the inside. It’s a great little size, and standard half pans fit perfectly. In fact, I like this case better than some expensive travel palettes I’ve tried. Also, the short-than-normal water brushes are a handy size for convenient carrying (especially with the included black “velvet” bag). The water brushes do unscrew opposite to the way I am used to — although the instructions on this webpage are perfectly clear (if I had paid attention to them!) The only possible negative I can see is that some colors of my paints seemed to be mislabeled…some definitely were mislabeled (i.e., “yellow” for an aqua blue)…and the selection of colors I received did not exactly match what was listed. As I looked more closely, I noticed the color selections are not even consistent in the photos. This would only be a problem if you need a specific hue (i.e., there are two purples listed but I received only one). However, the color selection I did receive is lovely and harmonious and close to the photos. In fact, I like it better! It has a good variety of hues to choose from to accent any subject I can think of. I simply stopped trying to match the labels and made up my own names for my swatch cards. In short, this is a great buy!

The first thing that attracted me was the tin, I love sectioning and then i thought it was a steal when you get two waterbrushes, a black and white swatch card, and traveling pouch and metallic paints. The tin alone is worth the price! I will say, I did two swatches, one where you scrub at the paints and the other to let water sit on them for a few seconds. The initial swatches were sheer with only mica. I don't mind this, usually you want to let your paints loosen up but I'm more inclined to use them as a topper. One downfall I saw was that two of the colors collapsed, becoming craters. Another was that some color names were weird. Like it says yellow, but I got another blue. One says deep purple but it's more of a rust red color. Things to look for, for me I don't mind. They're pretty colors for me and I enjoy the selection alone. All in all, I would say it's a pretty good gift set for someone getting into metallic paints but doesn't want to be overwhelmed with all the colors

The box is smaller than I expected but that actually makes it easier to carry around, so once I got used to the idea that became a positive. Other positives: the water brush pens are more pen size than brush size so they are easy for me to use. There is a lot of shimmer to the colors, even the ones that are very sheer such as the purple and pink. The negatives are: unevenly filled pans, mislabled colors (ex: the one labeled yellow was blue), color variety shown on the packaging not accurate to what is in the set. I bought these to add a little accent color to my journals and they will work for that, even at my minimal skill level, but with the hit and miss quality control I hesitate to recommend them.

I was holding my breath waiting for them. I just didn't know what to expect for $14. Well, I didn't need to deprive myself of oxygen....these paints are top notch. Great to work with and very little goes a long. The packaging is very cute and functional. You have the metal flap that sits on top of the paints, the lid is a great place to mix your paints along with the flap and if you fakee the paints out you can use that space for mixing too. It comes with a velvet drawstring bag and that's a good thing because the brushes (2) will not fit in the tin. So you just put everything in the bag and go! This little paint tin hold alot of punch for your money...I think I'll get my mom one so she can have some fun too.
