Jonathan Green 10765 Fall Magic Grass Seed Mix, 3 Pounds

This was my first experience with Jonathan Green grass seed. The results were outstanding. The grass came in lush green and really dense. The seed started to germinate after about 7 days. I think I found my new "go to" seed. This seed isn't overly expensive and didn't contain coating which usually accounts for 1/2 of the weight. Make sure to use some straw or cover the seed with a THIN layer of soil to prevent feeding the birds.

Grass is grass, as long as it germinates and grows, what can you say. This grass was pricey, but it seems to germinate just fine and grew well. Trick is keeping it damp with peat moss over top of it.

This grass seed is great, it germinates fast and it managed to sprout even though I have about 1.5 inches of mulch on top of the grass. I am using this grass seed for a really obscure purpose, for inter-cropping blueberries. The grass' roots provide iron to the blueberry plants, this is helpful for plant health because blueberries do not produce iron chelators on their own. It is quite impressive how quickly the grass sprouted, if I were to guess I would say it took about a week for germination. I will have to get some more of this product for my lawn this fall for over-seeding. I perused the reviews and noticed some folks looking for the breakdown of the seed in this mix. Have always had great grass however this past year, due to a new female German shepherd, my grass has taken a beating from her urine. In addition to that, I think I was just so pissed off that I didn't water or tend to the grass as normal. This October I said enough is enough and I raked up all the dead grass from the urine spots, had the dog trained within 2 days to go elsewhere, and began reading reviews for grass seed. Ordered this and felt fairly confident in the produc. True enough..2 bags of this, VERY minimal soil prep (only rolling a manual tiller around in a pretty haphazard way) and my grass is looking great! As others have commented, within a week and a half I had sprouts about 1-2". The grass is wispy, but beautiful. I just came on to order 2 more bags in addition to the 45 lb bag Winter Survival by Jonathan Green. This time, since I know for certain it works, I will use a spreader and just overseed my entire yard for a more lush and dense grass. I have used a few different brands previously...but this is truly the best that I have ever found. The absolute most important thing is to WATER your lawn every day while this takes root.
