Give these a shot!
I tried a number of products and this is what ultimately solved my sesamoiditis I had gotten in both feet. My podiatrist basically said it’s not going to go away unless you get custom insoles and over corrective shoes. So what did I do instead? I bought 10$ dancer pads and a pair of non supportive Altra shoes, my feet haven’t been this healthy in at least 6 months. I work in grocery and on my feet all day long on hard concrete so the sesamoid pain was affecting me every day to where I was limping and almost ready to give up hope. Being an avid hiker this was really tough for me. These pads provided instant relief to where I could get through my shift without limping! But the struggle wasn’t over yet. I obviously could still feel the pain. You have to be dedicated to these. I wore them 80% of the time(mostly at work) for about 3 months and I’m now not needing to wear these and have little to no pain. I HIGHLY recommend trying these out, for only 10$ it’s worth a shot. I’m still going to keep a pair in my backpack just in case as these helped me a ton. I’m now a huge barefoot style shoe advocate. Insoles and supportive shoes are not always the answer, actually quite rarely. Also I recommend trying to strengthen the calf muscles, they impact your feet a lot, if they are weak it puts a lot more strain on the tendons and muscles in your feet which includes the tendon that runs through your sesamoids. Only issue with the product is the adhesive wears out after about 3 weeks, if you wear socks it will usually keep them in place though. Clean them off each night with water. I used 3 pair in 3 months. I’m so thankful I found these!

Great for active people, Have great durability
I've had these for months now and I really can't complain much about them. They have much better durability than I was expecting. I'm very active. I do competitive ballroom latin so I developed metarsalgia from so much practice. These stick to your foot and are extremely secure, they can require some peeling off at the end of the day but they will stay put during a long run or almost anything else you can throw at them. They wear a little along the edges over time but I haven't noticed any change in performance. To clean just run them under warm water and let them dry. I noticed one of the "one star" reviews complained about how hard they were. I have a pair of slip on pads that I use and I think they were expecting something along those lines. These are more firm but they still provide really all the pressure distribution you need, squishier ones would really not work well for anyone looking to use for during vigorous activities. Other "one star" reviews were critical of the stickiness. If your feet are not completely dry, they do not stick well. If I put them on after a shower I have to really dry the bottoms of my feet before trying to apply them.If you naturally have sweaty feet, I could definitely see having a problem with application.

Definitely better than nothing, and feel better as one becomes accustomed to them.
UPDATE: Editing my earlier review, to say that, having now had extended use of the three different kinds of pads I bought quite awhile ago (as well as a couple of other products bought elsewhere), I find these PediFix Dancer's Pads to be the best. They are simply more comfortable (especially after you use them awhile, and become more accustomed to the feeling of having them stuck to the bottom of your foot), and they stay securely affixed much more successfully than the other kinds, mostly staying in place, even when I wear them with bare feet, around the house. Also, since my issue is primarily with my left foot, I appreciate that, if necessary, I can use the right-footed pad on my left foot, by changing the positioning. It's not ideal, but a workable solution, when the left-foot pad is not available. The other two brands I bought here (listed below) are slightly thicker, which means actually less comfortable, because there's too much distance between the outside surface of the pad and the surface of my skin. Also, the edges of those are too acute, or pronounced, whereas the PediFix pads kind of gently slope at the edges, making the pad more like a part of ones foot. So, that's my update to the original review, below. Having searched in stores for something like these (I didn't know if they even existed), I finally thought to search here, and bought three different brands of the same kind of product. Besides these, I got Dr. Jills Gel Ball of Foot Cushions (Self-Sticking and Re-Usable) and Dancers Professional Gel Foot Pad (Set, left/right) . Having used all three since getting them in May, I'm grateful for them all. I'm still not sure which, if any brand is a favorite *(see above edit; these are the best). I like these a lot; they may be slightly less cushioning than the Dr. Jills, but they also take up a bit less space, so can be worn in some shoes that are too tight with the Dr. Jills ones. All in all, if you're having pain with the ball of the foot, I recommend these as well as *(but more than) those other two brands.

Relief at last!
I was diagnosed with sesamoiditis. Weeks of PT, doctors...nothing helped the pain. One doctor told me I had to either live with it, get a customized orthotic, or have surgery (which he was really pushing). When I asked to meet with the person who designs the orthotics, she told me not to bother with one, that I should search on Amazon for sesamoid pain relief and try the pads that are advertised. She was so right! I ordered felt pads, this PediFix gel pad, and Dr. Jill's. Additionally, whenever possible, I ordered both the thinner (1/8") and thicker (1/4") pads, so now I have a bag full of different foot pads. I have to tell you that they all work! I can walk, wear different shoes, and have almost no pain. Miraculous! I had to experiment with the different pads to see which worked better in my sneakers vs. sandals etc. I think I have it down to a science now. I will say that sometimes, particularly with thicker pads, I am aware that a pad is on my foot, but truthfully, I don't care because I don't have pain. Placement of the pads on the foot is really important. If I put them too low or more towards the middle of my foot, they don't work as well. A quick adjustment and the pain is gone. I do like these PediFix gel pads. I agree with the reviewers who have indicated that your foot has to be dry and clean. The heat from your foot helps the gel pad adhere more closely to the foot. It does feel a little funny when you peel the gel pad off, almost like it's going to tear, but it doesn't. I make sure to keep the pads clean and to cover them with the plastic cover when not in use. I haven't had to order any new pads in months....the ones I have all last a long time. So, if you have this sesamoid pain, I would highly recommend that you try these pads!

Stickiness does not last through long days
These pads, on first use, are just right - they provide enough support to protect the sesamoids but are slim enough to fit into most normal shoes. However, I cannot recommend for those with high arches or those who work on their feet for long days. I need these to stand up to my long days moving around the hospital as a clinician, walking to and from work, etc. Instead, I found that the stickiness wears off after 2-3 hours until these pads are nearly sliding/flopping around inside my socks, which is worse than not wearing them at all. This is true even with very diligent washing, drying, and application with pressure to get them to stick. I'll still use them for things like walks with friends that will take less time, but they aren't an all-day solution if you're an active person.

What a relief!
I am a dancer and have sesamoiditis. My podiatrist made some contraption from foam and bandages for me to wear so that I would take pressure off of the sesamoids. While it was effective in doing so, it wasn't very practical because I couldn't wear it inside my dance shoes. Additionally, it got dirty and sweaty (eew). I ordered various products (Sesamoid Relief Sleeve, Dr. Jill's and Pedi-Gel). The Relief Sleeve was too thin and didn't fit right. Dr. Jill's is a little too thick and the gel pad is smooth (no traction). The pedi-gel goes on perfectly and has traction. Because I wear closed toe and open toe shoes when I dance/compete, I was hesitant about using them. I can honestly say that they fit well and stay on your foot ( I practice in them about 2 hours a day and my foot gets very sweaty). When I'm done, I wash them with warm soapy water and lay them out to dry and their ready for use. In a follow up appointment to my podiatrist, I showed them to him and he gave them his seal of approval - so I'm a happy dancer!!! 1/18/2014 - UPDATE: I still have my dancer pads. I have a few pair and they are still going strong. Eventually they do get kind of dirty, but they are still useful. Here is one suggestion for keeping them "sticky". Keep the plastic container that they come in. After you use your pads, wash them with soap and water & rinse. Shake off the excessive water (do not pat dry) and place them on the plastic container. The next time that you use them you will see that they are pretty stuck to the hard plastic. Just pull them off and place them on your feet. Another tip is to make sure your feet aren't sweaty, dirty or have any creams on them. I usually wipe my feet down with some antibacterial gel and then place the pads on when it dries. If you are a dancer, it might take a few times before you figure out the right spot to place the pads for greater comfort, but eventually you will and you'll be a happy dancer! 6/16/2014 - UPDATE: Came back to buy some extra Dancer's Pad only to find that the price went from $9.95 + Free Shipping to $19.95 + $5.95 shipping. Not sure what's going on here and why there aren't any other sellers of this on Amazon, but this is still available on other sites for $9.95 + free shipping. Hope the price comes down on Amazon. Until then, I'll have to buy them elsewhere.

Great for the sesamoids
These have been handy for protecting my sesamoid bones in my left foot. My doctor and I are still trying to figure out if I have a fractured sesamoid or sesamoiditis. I've tried a lot of remedies like a walking boot, ultrasound therapy, and KT tape; so far these pads have been able to give me immediate relief when I need to walk around. I've been wearing one of these pads on my left foot for a few weeks now. Placement is easy, but can be a little odd. At least on my foot part of the pad hangs off a little bit. Once I start walking around the pad will quickly stick to my foot so I can hardly feel it. Only one time I felt the pad shift, and that was when I had been walking for around an hour straight. Otherwise the pad is super sticky. You need to rinse it with plain water everyday and let it dry to make sure it keeps being sticky. I've worn these to the gym for around an hour and a half and they've always stayed in place! The pad really helps to "float" my sesamoid bone so it is hardly touching the ground or my insole. Hopefully if I keep wearing these I will get some long term relief!

Big help
I had been dealing with sesamoiditis for about 3 weeks after having my foot fixed in an a strained position while kayaking. I was willing to try anything at that point and I broke down and bought these. My foot received some initial relief of pain within just a few days but be prepared to wear them for a few weeks before the pain goes away entirely. The adhesive will wear out after just a couple weeks. Here are a few tips or tricks to make these effective: 1. After the sticky adhesion wears off, simply step down onto the pad, adjust it to fit correctly, and wait 30 seconds. The heat from your foot will warm the gel and it will become sticky enough again to adhere to throw your sock on over it. 2. If you are finding that it's not comfortable at first, very small adjustments of the pad left/right/up/down make a HUGE difference. 3. Be patient with it. The gel pad will feel very solid at first and you might be deterred by that. It becomes much softer after awhile as your foot warms it. You will barely notice it being there after awhile. This is a difficult area to treat and healing is gradual so don't expect a miracle over night. I'm glad I bought these online because calling them "Dancer's Pads" would not inspire me to walk up to a register with these. How about sesamoiditis pads??!! Nonetheless, they work and I recommend them.

Alivio instantaneo
Sigo tomando vitamina B12.

Huge relief. Good Price
If put on properly this pad provides relief to the Sesamoid Joint which I had hurt and nothing seemed to help. Stayed off it for a month and didn't even dent the pain. Specialty clinics couldn't help. Tried Taping with KT Tape did help a little. But these pads have been a major help for a small cost. They stick well and are easy to clean. I have used for work all day then Slo Pitch right after work and they didn't move at all.

Great for sesamoidits
I bought this because I've been having some pain on the ball of my foot, specifically at the base of my big toe. I suspected it to be sesamoidits, but no medical confirmation. Either way, these pads got rid of the sensitivity I had when walking right away. And you only need one pair - the stickiness really does come back after washing with soap and water (and letting dry). I've been using these for a few months now on a daily basis.

Has really helped alleviate the pain while wearing it. For my sesamoiditis in left foot.
Has really helped to alleviate the pain. I do wish you could get 2 of the same foot in one package and have the option of either right or left. Not sure how common it is to get sesamoiditis in both feet at the same time is...as well as the adhesive part isnt that sticky so I wear a sock as well to keep it sticking better. I hope that this pain doesnt last much longer...it is one of those extremely difficult ones to get rid of unfortunately.
