Bigger than I'd want, but it works
While it charges nicely, I don't see a reason for such a large screen. It's a bit cumbersome and difficult to find a permanent spot to rest. I find it hard to take off any stars for this, however, as it operates exactly as advertised.Contrary to another reviewer's statement about it not showing accurate charge voltages, I tested the battery with a multimeter and got the same results as the charger itself.

Solved my problem.
I have several chargers of this type that are used to charge different types of batteriesfor my collection of LED flashlights however, none of them could handle21700 protected cell batteries. The XTAR VC4L does this with room to spare.Works great, good price, what's not to like?

USB C Port is proprietary, Standard USB C Cables will not work - UPDATED!
The device works as intended but the unit is not designed to work with standard USB C pinned cables. What this means is if you lose the detachable USB Cable that comes with it, you can not just replace it with any USB C to USB A cable you have. This also means the the USB C power supply I had intended to use with this unit will not work as you are forced to use the included USB C to USB A cable. This is kind of misleading but unfortunately it does use a USB C port on the device so it is technically correct.======UPDATE======After testing out several combinations of cables and adapters I have discovered that this device does function on standard USB C to USB C cables and USB C to USB A cables. It just would not function on the specific combination of cable and adapter I had tried it on. To clarify, I have tons of USB cables of different types of varying quality levels, the ones I originally used are ones that are rated to charge up to 100w of power and are also rated to use USB 3.2 high speed data transfer. So when they did not work to power this device I pointed a finger at the device. After swapping out the power adapter the device worked as intended. But weirdly when I swapped out the cable for another brand using the original power brick it also worked. So YMMV depending on what power brick you have and what cable you have as to weather or not this device will work. This all based on you losing the original cable because that never failed to power on the device no matter what I plugged it into. Updating to 5 stars.

Only fast charges one NiMH battery in one slot.
Not expensive or super high quality charger. It will 1 amp charge a NiMH in one slot, if you charge 2-4 you only get 0.5 amp charging even though it's a 2 amp charger. 1 amp charging is actually good for the batteries and faster so it's disappointing it won't charge 2 at one amp. It charges all the batteries I have put in it fine. It has a display that tells you what it is doing and gives some idea of battery capacity. I recommend it at the price. I just wish it would charge 2 NiMH batteries at 1 amp, then I would give it 5 stars. It's scarcely more expensive than a 2 slot charger but I mostly use just one slot and if you don't have a lot of batteries or are space limited, I would buy the two slot because fast charging one battery at a time is as fast as charging 2 batteries slow. Charging at 0.5 amps is slow and doesn't really protect the batteries because no harm is done at 1 amp charging but at 0.5 amp charging, NiMH batteries won't live up to their full potential. Lithium ion batteries are fine at 0.5 amp, though it's slow. Good charger at the price.

Better than Nitecore
My second nitecore charger gave up the Ghose and I needed a replacement. The reviews on this were quite good and once I had it on hand it didnt disappoint. It gives you great info on your battery and charging status. Would recommend.

I'm just tickled with it!
This works way better than I thought it was going to. The display gives you a tremendous amount of information I'm very pleased with it. The quality feels much better than I thought it would. Overall I'm just tickled to death with the quality and the performance of this battery charger.

Do not purchase this Product
The charging bay started out great. Charging a mix of batteries from 18650's to 21700's both type of batteries i use for vaping. The charge was fast and consistent. However, that's where the fun ends. About a week after purchase all 4 bays would do some weird things. The bay display would show NULL on bays 1 and 3 and then on bays 2 and 4 would show a full battery however, I'd put the battery in my device and the mod would read like sometimes 50% charge, essentially the level for which I had put the battery into the bay. Lastly all 4 bays indicator lights would not turn green once fully charged.I called Amazon customer service and they redirected me to direct customer support for this product. The number given just goes menu option and ive tried all four departments leaving voicemails and no one has ever returned my phone calls.I even submitted a support email to the email added provided on their website without response. In conclusion I would recommend this product if there was any level of support but there is ZERO SUPPORT, so im out x amount of money and back to square 1 in need of a multi-bay charging station.I am a support engineer and I have changed reviews from 1 star to a 5 star from my customers. I provided the level of support the customer needed to fix their issue and they were, for at least that moment happy with their product. If there is zero support at any entry-point Ie phone or email, then this product is dead in the water because you will not get support at any level.

Don't buy it if you need a real professional reading measurement of battery charger.
This battery charging machine has a non function reading result. I put the 1st new 18650 3.7V 5000 mAH in CH1 to charging , the volt meter showing 4.2V full after 5 hours charging it stop and showing full charge at 834 mAH( 5000 mAH). Then I put 2nd new same type battery to test charge also showing over voltage 4.2 V after another 5 hours charging it stop and showing full charge at 983 mAH . It won't give you full capacity charging. I put a single battery at CH 1 volt meter reading is 4.2V, then I put another AA on CH2 charging bar for mix charging. At CH1 battery voltage reading will drop from 4.2V to 3.90V. Very funny reading. I put AAA in charging bar it won't start to charging. Then I contact seller. Seller said my AAA battery size may not fit the charging bar it may need to put a paper under the battery rising the battery position to get connect charging point. It WORKS. This charger will not showing the real voltage and capacity of your battery. If you need a professional real time reading measurement of your battery don't buy it. It may give you a totally wrong reading measurement result. After try out from "Wissblue" LCD-4 battery charger. "Wissblue" will give you real reading measurement result and without any problem.

Good Charger Improved
This is an Xtar VC4 with improved battery compatibility and USB-C connectivity. It's a good charger made better and for the same price. There's some inconvenience from the lack of an included USB charger. All they provide is a cable which was too short for me to use. I went to the store and spent $7 on a 5V 3A USB charger... It must be a cost saving measure because, to be fair, the price is reasonable. It could offer some more features like 2A single cell charging but that's not important to me. I also added some rubber pads on the bottom since it will slide around on a hard surface due to the feet being plastic.Edit: I changed the rating from 4 stars to 3. This thing is very picky with cables; I have used several cables that wouldn't reach the full charge rate which, at least, is shown on the screen. All of the cables I tried were plugged into a power strip with 5V 3A USB ports and each cable would be expected to handle 15W.I still feel the rest of the review is appropriate if you only use the included USB cable or if you find one that works for you. I happened to have a 6.5ft cable that worked but YMMV.

Charges as intended, but that's about it
As written in the title, the charger itself works like it should and charges my 18650s like a charm, but i'm not sure the graphs are actually useful at all, Also there's no real instructions as to what's going on with the batteries (red light can mean a short and charging.... Kinda dumb to me but oh well)Haven't tried any other types of batteries, so for anything else, take this review with a grain of salt. For vaping batteries though, it functions like it should and charges very well. Giving 4/5 because i don't believe the graphs are factual, and because no AC power, only usb which didn't go over 0.5 amps per battery on charge using 2x 18650s.

Good charger, one issue
I highly recommend this charger if you're looking for an inexpensive charger to cover charging most types of batteries you'll encounter for most of your devices. The one downside is that it does not come with a power adapter, you'll need to have your own and the cable that comes with it appears to be proprietary. I don't know why they would make it USB-C with a proprietary cable so now I'm stuck bringing an extra USB-C cable with me just for this charger. If they ever fix the cable issue, or they offer extra cables at reasonable price I could see giving this 5 stars.
