Chose this one for $40 over others that were lower priced based on better reviews for this one and issues reported on the others. After a few days of use, this one seems just fine. It snaps in cleanly into the battery slot just like the original (which in my past experience the after-market batteries have problems with). No compatibility issues at all with my Dell Inspiron 17 (5000 series, model 5759), and charge and discharge times seem comparable to the original Dell battery.

I purchased from this seller a few years ago and the battery worked just fine. Over time the battery life deteriorated and now it only holds charge for about 45 minutes, which is understandable. I decided to return to this seller to purchase another replacement battery but the battery did not charge at all. I returned the battery and decided to try buying another one but the second battery I recieved did not charge either.These batteries have passed their shelf life with the seller and are now unusable. I do not recommend buying this product from this seller as you will likely recieve a dead battery.

The seller fulfilled the order faster than I expected and it is working fine with my HP Envy laptop. Battery worked perfectly and was half the price of OEM. It's been 3 months - so far so good!

So I am revising my review. I loved this battery when I got it. Now, A year and 2 months or so after putting it in, it has failed. And I hardly ever run it on battery.If the battery is inserted and the system is on AC power my system will not boot, it fails about 10 seconds in and shut downs in a power loss.If I take the battery out the system will boot.I left the system plugged in for 24 hours to try to make it charge. No luck.I booted the system on power, then inserted the battery, 5 seconds and it turned off (loss of power).This leads me to the only conclusion that the battery is bad.

I bought this battery about a year ago and it very quickly ran out of power storage time over the course of a year and got so bad that towards the end, a full charge was 15-20 minutes of run time. It has finally stopped working completely and my computer no longer registers that there is a battery at all.
