Excellent piece of HW, slightly limited software
Hardware is almost excellent, very precise and tool exchange is also quite easy. Overall I am impressed. But there is room for improvement. First of all it should come with a bit more accessories to be productive and while software is easy to use it's still a bit too basic.

I have bought one of these from a supplier in the UK since returning this one, great machine, highly rated! Anyone looking to import this: Cricut will *not* allow you to register the device, regardless if it's a UK/EU/etc unit for export, as the device is sold from the US-based warehouses of Amazon.com, meaning that if something breaks on your machine and you need to RMA it, they will not be able to help you. I found this all out after speaking to both Cricut's UK and US support staff (who were lovely) who informed me of this part of their terms and conditions which states that it can only be registered in the country of purchase. Sent it back, took 2-3 weeks for a refund (lots of messaging back and forth as it was sat at an Amazon warehouse for 1.5 weeks before being scanned).

The Cricut itself is great. It cuts well and is relatively fast and does a great job of making precision cuts. The tools are easy to change and there is a ton of options out there for tons of different materials. There is a great community of Crafters with a lot of hunts and tricks, as well as a ton of royalty free designs. The machine is well made and well designed. It is truly an incredible machine. My issue came up with the software. It is so limited in the free version. I had read a lot of reviews and knew this going into it. I did not expect the software to be less than intuitive. Drag and drop is a joke unless you have everything perfect. Finding files is a nightmare, and trying to work on more than one project at a time is laughable. I am not a computer wiz or even some what knowledgeable (I have to write down all the steps for my work computer use), but this software is just sad. Once we FINALLY got a project prepared and loaded the directions were so confusing that we ended up placing the material on upside down and ruined our first project. Oh well live and learn. We refuse to pay for a subscription as we are cheap skates so maybe the pay for use versions are better, but the free stuff stinks.
