Q: I just received this pen, but no ink comes out. There is a cartridge that came in the pen. Do I need to do anything else?

Mine came with a soft rubber cartridge, but you still have to put ink in the cartridge. You will note that the cartridge has two metal strips. Make sure the cartridge is securely attached to the pen, then put the nib into an ink bottle, squeeze the metal sides of the cartridge together, and slowly release. The pen will fill by suction. once that is done, wipe it off with a paper towel (messy) and screw back together. It should work fine then.Even with ink in the pen, the tip will dry out if not used for some time. When that happens, put the nib in clear warm water and take it out immediately, then scribble with the pen until the ink flows.

Q: Can i use for blue ink?

Hello. Thank you for your inquiry. Black ink is included with this item but blue ink refills are available for purchase.

Q: Do jinhao cartridges work on this pen?

No. Jinhao uses "International Standard" cartridges; Pilot uses their own proprietary cartridge. You CAN use Jinhao ink in the converter, however.
