New Venture Creation: Entrepreneurship for the 21st Century

Still reading but definitely a good template for entrepreneurial venture comprehension.

Good Textbook, important ideas for the new entrepreneur and excellent conceptual guide. But not an easy read.

I rented this for an MBA startup/small business creation class, and after reading through it for a few days I switched classes. In short, this is not a book on how to start a small business - and it's probably my fault for underestimating the importance of the word "venture" in the title. It starts with the longest description of entrepreneurship, with some soul-searching exercises about one's motivation to start a business, and then sort of jumps straight into venture capital investments and doing business at a very high level. While it covered the basics of starting a business in a few pages, I felt like spending over half of the book on VC and advanced growth tactics was putting the cart before the horse. I'm sure some people might appreciate just that, but if you're looking for a strong foundation to help you figure out how to build that company up from scratch, there are other books that do that better.

This coupled with my fantastic lecturer helped me to ace my module. Another step closer to completing my MBA :)

Great book if you are looking to launch a business. Very helpful information, I bought it for a class and was pleasantly surprised.
