Beautiful, amazing quality, and just what we ordered. It's perfect. My son just turned 12 and he loves studying geography in school and then coming home to find it on the map and tell us all about it. Super great learning tool and just awesome to have in general. Worth every penny.

There is quite a lot of appropriate detail on the globe considering the scale. But the detail is not over-done which can lead to confusion on some maps and globes as "too much information" which is really a distraction. National boundaries are clear and distinct, easy to locate. Latitude and longitude, the features I was seeking, are distinct and well labeled. The lines match up. The ocean floor mountain ranges and other land forms are included and are quite interesting. The globe is mounted on a durable metal stand/frame. If one wants a globe with up-to-date national boundaries, Replogle offers discount on a new globe. Personally I do not find it necessary that a globe contain the latest name or boundary. Like any map, a globe is a document of changing history. I was particularly impressed with the quality and forethought of the internal packaging in the shipping box. The globe is securely held in place to prevent movement and damage. The internal packaging will also protect the globe from a good measure of rough handling in shipment. With this much concern to insure the globe arrives in good condition, I am further impressed with the over-all dedication of Replogle in producing a quality product. I am very well pleased with the features of the globe and the high quality of construction. It is a convenient size for a desk and of course it is easily moved about.

Cannot believe this costs 55 dollars. It just seems so junky. Not going to return it since the other ones online all look similar and are similar prices. The print is very tiny. I also do not think the line around the equator should be so dark and heavy. I am comparing it to a globe I bought for my own kids maybe in the 1980's that was about 15 dollars in a dicount toy store. That one is out of date - but it has a metal base and arc piece - is made much better, easier to read print and seamless at the equator - it is about the same weight as this new one i just bought. I remember thinking at the time that the 15 dollar globe would be just a "starter" globe... well, it really lasted - my son just gave it to his son and it is a lot nicer than this 55 dollar one I bought for another grandson. Packaging was in a torn carton. Says it was made in the U.S. which I find hard to believe - there was a plastic bag around it with Chinese characters on it.

This is a pretty good globe, to be fair it is a good gift for a child that has an interest in learning about the world, and would like a visual representation. Pros: The globe has a lot of detail, specifically it has the US states. Which is a feature that is not easy to find for mid priced globes. The size is good, so the different regions are relatively easy to recognize, no need for magnifying glass. There are also raised areas to represent mountainous regions which is pretty cool. Con: The biggest issue is the huge blue band around the center of the globe which goes through several continents. The product picture show the band, so there was no misrepresentation by the seller, I just didn't realize how prominent it would be.

I purchased the globe to get a better perspective of countries rather than just look at a flat map. I was a little concerned with some of the negative reviews I read online. But the globe I received had none of the defects described in those comments. This globe is just fine. Some of the print is small but there's a lot of information on that 12" sphere; not much room to afford larger type. I'm old and need to use a loop to read the fine print on documents anyway, so it's normal for me. :) All of the seams appear to be solid and the data spreading across them match well. The USA states are well defined. I am quite satisfied with this globe.

My husband asked for a World globe for Christmas. I started looking on the internet to learn about globes and found there were a vast array of globes with many prices according to the product. I looked at Amazon and went through the various globes offered there, especially, the reviews and ratings of the different globes. I chose the Explorer Globe because it was what I was looking for - a basic learning globe with the simple qualities I thought a person would want in a globe that was for educating himself to World geography. The price was right and it had raised relief with easy to read lettering. It also came with a sturdy stand. I also liked the advice that this globe could be returned for an updated globe in the future. When I received the globe is was what I expected. I would recommend this globe to anyone who wants a good basic globe without all the frills that drive costs up. My husband was thrilled!

My kids saw a globe on tv and begged me nonstop until I agreed to purchase one for them. I looked around for a while because I didn't want to spend too much money knowing that it would either get used a lot or not at all. I found this globe and was skeptical from the picture. I was afraid it would be flimsy and not stand up to six little hand grabbing at it and pulling it away from each other. I was pleasantly surprised when the globe arrived. The stand is sturdy and it's very light but very well made. My kids have spent time spinning it until it could go for minutes on it's own and dropping it all over the house. I fully expect my kids to continue to spin, write on and drop this globe. I have no doubt that it will survive.

Arrived pre-assembled and securely boxed. As a gift for my grandson. He likes the globe a lot, and it helps him to view the vastness of our own planet, and to locate different continents and countries where, today, so much is going on, such as the recent floods in Australia which caught his interest, and he is able to see just where Australia is located. Ditto, Greenland and trump's insane comments about it. Ukraine, and all that warfare. Now my grandson knows where it is in relation to the USA. A very good learning tool.

The globe is fantastic and everything has been labeled properly and nicely. Moreover, I can see all names written on it as well as I loved how this globe has these bumps to show that there are mountains and so, as a result you can easily identify which places have mountains. I have used the globe to put on my table (for display) because previously I had a small globe bought from Dollarama and that was like very terrible and it got broke by me by accident so then, I decided to buy this one and was big enough to see all details and very much appreciated. The best thing about this globe is that you can see and learn many things about it. However, overall this is a great globe ever manufactured by Replogle and which is a US based company.

This came on time and looks like I wanted. Has the ridges for mountains and the gold base looks good. Just a note that it is over- large so I had to pick up at my postal office. Just FYI for your planning purposes. Would recommend
