Long lasting
This is a wonderful, chemical free soap. I have been trying for years to remove chemicals from my life. While I know complete removal would be virtually impossible, this is a great start. Your skin absorbs almost everything that you put on it. I also have very sensitive skin. I had no adverse reaction to this whatsoever.Due to the lack of chemical preservatives, this soap will melt quickly when left in water and I assume that it has the potential to go bad. It comes in a large block. I was surprised at how much one pound actually was. I cut off a small portion to keep in the shower, tub and on the bathroom sink. The rest I wrap up and keep in the fridge. I ordered this soap over a year ago and I still have a bit left.I have given some to my teenage daughter too. It has helped to improve her acne-prone skin. I also like the fact that I dont go around smelling like "soap" all day. It has no scent, so it doesnt compete with my coconut oil that I use as moisturizer. Parachute Coconut Oil 200 ml oil So I am clean and chemical free plus I smell wonderful! This IS soap, so it will have a slight drying affect on your skin. Once or twice a week I use the used coffee grounds (right out of the coffee maker) to exfoliate. And yes, on my face too. These 3 products are safe, effective, affordable and chemical free. And my skin has never looked better!!I am about to reorder. I won't get this product, only because I just noticed that the company now has one with this and shea butter combined. I cant wait to try it. Raw African Shea Butter Black Soap from Ghana - 1 LbParachute Coconut Oil 200 ml oilRaw African Shea Butter Black Soap from Ghana - 1 Lb

works nicly for dry skin!
pros: its natural leathers up nice with hardly any removes dirt make up and oil well leaves skin firm but not dry ( the areas of my face that naormally look flaky and dry are no longer and are soft!! leave skin super soft and glowing! good price for amount you get and goes long waycons: not the best smell but not to bad of a after small really kinda plain. not very appealing in looks far as color and texture does burn eyes at least did mine once when i got it in my eyes unless it was make up? im not sure but i think its not the best fot peoplke with oily skin i notice my chin which is my problem ares from time to time did break out a bit but im not sure its from soap becuase like i said it does tend to get a few zits here and there.i would say for people with dry skin it would be prefect and people with combination skin maybe just add a acne cream to oily acne prone area if it effects you a great deal beacause it does work great in cleaning skin and making dry skin soft and the dewy look!over all i like it and will keep using it. i think ill stop using it and see if the pimples on chin and oily t zone ares go away and then re start using it again and see if it make sin oily again.. i will update again!

I really like this soap.
I did a lot of reading before finally buying this Black Soap. I have used other Black Soap sold at the Vitiamin Shop. It smelled really good and was really black. This product was nothing like it...but much better. It smells very natural, not perfumed at all. I rubbed it in my hands then applied to my face. It lathers very well. My face is now very soft, the redness on my checks and the corners of my nose is disappearing and I have no blemishes. I actually hate to put make up on after cleaning... because it feels so good to have a really clean face. I did notice a little stinging where I had just plucked my eye brows. I have also used it all over my body in the shower, it can be a little rough using the bar of soap directly on the skin, but great if you rub it on a wash cloth or sponge. I do use the bar directly on my skin, but I am careful to not rub to hard and to watch for larger rough pieces in the bar that can scratch. I apply raw shea butter lotion after my shower, and my skin feels great. I also use the soap on my granddaughter, she has spots of eczema and we are seeing improvement with those areas. I have not tried on my hair yet, actually afraid it may strip the color. I will continue to buy this soap and keep it stocked.

Nice clean feel but too soft
This soap has a nice lather and feel. it has a nice clean feel and smell. howevr its waaaaaaay toooo soft. it melts in your hand. I cut mine into 4 large bars. so far the bar has totally lost its form. the soap dish I use is a drain of type so it take any liquid away. however this soap is just always mushy. I mushes in my hand and doesn't keep any form. my rectangular bar is now a ball. I think this soap is better off dissolved in water and used as a liquid soap cuz it does not stay solid at all. I have almost used up the first bar and its only been 12 days. it may last me 1 more day.the way this soap acts, I suspect the other 3 bars will be used up in 5 to 6 weeks.

Better than special facial washes and other soaps!
I Love African Black Soap for my face and body! It doesn't dry my skin out, but I still sometimes use Organic Nilotica Shea Butter, the EAST African shea butter (NOT the West African!)from Slice of Nature/Amazon.com for the rough places. This combination makes my skin glow and heals any little bumps or bites almost right away. I have waist length blonde hair, and can also wash it with this soap without using a conditioner, BUT I find that hot flashes mat my hair if I do. Don't get me wrong, my hair looks great, but I need to rotate with a shampoo & conditioner after a hot flash, just to get a comb or brush through my hair! (I am now trying the shea on my hair to see if that helps.) I highly recommend this soap (and shea butter). You might have to be careful to not let it stay wet, since it will melt and leave white streaks on your tub. But that is a small price to pay for such wonderful skin care at such a small price!
