Yes, when you replace your fridge filter with the Glacier fresh, you have to let it circulate until the filter water start coming out clear. There are small white specks but it's the filter inside, once that's done the water comes out nice and clear. I use it to make my coffee and flavor drinks, or just have a nice cold glass of water. And I live in Florida where the water system is one of the worst but with the filter and my reverse osmosis system, I'm set. Hope this helps
