Can you get raw ppg sensor data from this or the pulse is calculated automatically?

The PulseSensor Playground Library for Arduino samples the analog signal from the PulseSensor. Those raw PPG values can be accessed via library methods. Any regular analogRead of the PulseSensor output will generate a PPG waveform, if one is present. PulseSensor samples at 500Hz, but by default, our sample code down-samples to 50Hz when writing to the Serial port. This is good enough resolution to get a decent view of the signal in the time domain. We also do calculate the BPM and Interbeat Interval. Those values are accessible as well.

How do you wire it to the raspberry pi?

Can I use this on a wrist if I put it on a band to hold it in place?

We have heard of people getting a pulse from the wrist, however we cannot guarantee that you will be able to. We are all original organisms, and it may take alterations to the base software that we provide to extract a usable pulse waveform.
