first off, my fish - - Central American cichlids - - love this food. there is never any waste in the tanks, they eat as much as I give them (of course, I also avoid over-feeding). ingredients appear to be high-quality, and I've noticed no significant health issues now that I use NLS Spectrum as my exclusive fish food. also, NLS does not use ethoxyquin, a preservative considered toxic to fish, but still included in many fish foods.for what it's worth, I mix 50/50 among floating and sinking foods, so there is something for everyone. I like buying on Amazon because many pet stores either do not stock NLS, or stock only the sinking pellets.

New Life Spectrum is definitely one of our top three favorite brands of food that we feed our fish daily. We have seven tanks ranging from 10 to 150 gallons, therefore we have all different types and sizes of freshwater fish. These floating pellets are great for some of our fish that like to eat off the top, versus eating sinking pellets. You only need to drop in as many as your fish can eat in 2-3 minutes, anything extra will just get waterlogged, break up, and end up as waste in your tank. This is also a great quality food for your fish health wise, it includes lots of different protein sources, spirulina, and fruits and veggies. Our fish took to the food immediately. The pellet size is perfect for our 5-6 in cichlids.
