RAT II Linerlock Coyote Brown

I carry and use the Rat 1 a lot, but wanted to try something a little smaller. Very impressed, high quality, very strong, compact and unnoticeable in a pocket, and sharpens easily!

My husband's knife arrived today and he loves it. There's no wiggle in the blade, it opens easily with a crisp liner-lock click and closes smoothly without the spring snapping or pulling it shut. He's opened and closed it maybe 100 times already. The blade is perfectly centered when closed. He lost his Spyderco Delica 4 earlier this week and was desperate to get another everyday carry knife but didn't want to spend so much money on the replacement. The Delica was an outstanding knife but he feels this Rat II may be a better quality knife at a much better price point. It used his ceramic sticks set at 40 degrees to put a razor sharp edge on it. It's his first D2 blade so we will see if going with that steel was a wise idea. Time will tell. The delivery was very fast (three days) and it wasn't an Amazon Prime order. So far, this thing has been amazing. Who'd think you could get such a wonderful knife for such a good price? Came sharp enough to shave with right out of the box, and is still scary sharp. It's tough, it looks great, and it works even better. It's also surprisingly light. Definitely a worthy competitor to my Tenacious Lightweight. Easily one of my favorite knives.

Smaller than I expected. I wear a large size glove and this knife is almost too small for my hand. If you have large hands, you will struggle flipping the knife and it won’t feel secure in your hand when opening/closing. Also kinda small in hand when open, but just manageable. D2 provides a quality blade and decently built for price. It just worries me that it will slip out of my hand when opening or closing. Going to change the clip to the bottom and see if it helps.
