Elastic band driving me crazy, but material keeps the water out.
Let me start off by saying that if I could give this product a 4.5 star rating, I would. Overall, the product has held up against a few good rainstorms so far, which is why I chose 5 stars instead of 4. However, in terms of fit, the elastic waistband drives me nuts. I am 6' 0" tall and have a longer torso than some, so when I am wearing this Bull Frogg Signature75 Jacket with the Bull Frogg Signature75 Pants, the elastic waist band will slide up and sit on top of the pant's waistband, causing all of the water that is being kept off of my body to run down the back of the jacket and onto my shirt/pants underneath. I do not believe getting a larger size would help with this matter (I ordered the large), as every other aspect of this jacket fits me great and even allow me to wear a nice warm Carhartt coat underneath. I have tried wearing the Bull Frogg pants up really high (above my belly button) and the jacket material just slides up the pants material and sits on top.Beyond the elastic band issue, everything else seems to be working great. The jacket is nice and light, and the large allows me to wear warmer clothes underneath (as this jacket does not provide any real warmth). The hood fits my head nicely, even wearing a baseball cap underneath, and can be rolled up under the collar to be stored out of the way when not needed. The main zipper goes all the way down so you don't have to pull the jacket up over your head to take it off and has a flap that overlaps the inside and and another that overlaps the outside of the zipper and buttons down, protecting the zipper from water penetration. The wrists have Velcro adjustment tabs for the perfect fit over gloves if needed, and the jacket even has a pocket on each side. These pockets appear to seal decent, but they are a little too far back for my preference. Plus, I found out the hard way that having your hands in your pocket just allows the water to run down your jacket arms and into the pocket. I know the hood also has little adjustments that you can make, but I have not had to make any so I'm not sure how wide a range this adjustment is.Overall, the jacket does hold up against the rain and the wind. If I could just find a way to keep the elastic waistband from riding up, I would be golden. Can't win them all I guess. For less than $25.00 (when I bought it), I can't really complain too much. I wanted something that I could keep in my car for fishing days, or have on hand for rainy day dog walks that keeps me dry and I don't have to worry about soaking up the water like my previous "rain coat" did, and this fits the bill. We will see how it holds up to prolonged use.

Great for rain and ridiculously durable!
I was all set not to like this jacket because it was a weird material and completely unstylish (in my opinion). But I love it!!! I have had it for 6 months now and it is performing well beyond my expectations. I work in the wildlife field and am out working in the woods everyday with no house or cover. I needed a rain jacket that would keep me dry after hours of being exposed to downpours. It also needed to be durable as I am often bushwhacking thru the forest. I had a North Face rain jacket (that is by far way more stylish) but I was afraid that thin membrane like fabric would tear that moment a twig caught on it. So I purchased this Frogg Togg. And it has been a life saver!Things I like:-It is crazy durable! Working outside in the woods all day and this jacket has no tears or rips in it. I have rain pants that are made of a more tradition rainproof membrane and they have several rips that now have duct tape on it. But this jacket has lasted 6 months of brutal conditions.-Definitely keeps out the rain. Like I said, 6 months of a very rainy environment (the forests on WA state) and it has kept me very dry. I got wet once while wearing it, and it was at the sleeve where my hands are. It was after several days of rain, so I can't really be to shocked to have gotten a little bit of seepage.Things I don't like:-It is not super compact. Some people seem to be able to stuff this into small little balls. But I can't. It takes up most of the space in my backpack and does not stuff into a pocket nicely. I would not take this backpacking. If that is important for you, then you need a different jacket.-It was a little big. Obviously this is a mens size, and I am a women. But the mens was cheaper. I automatically ordered a small because of this and although it was still big on me, that wasn't a big issue. I am 5'6 and 145 lbs for reference. I can easily wear lots of layers underneath so I'm a fan of the extra room. Be aware of this size discrepancy when you order.-It is by no means stylish. I look like a big blue paper balloon when I wear it. But I'm out in the woods by myself so fashion isn't really important.Overall: I love this jacket! It does what it needs to which is keep me dry in the rain, and it is super durable on top of that!

Great for the right application, good for multi-use
These do run large, kinda like Carhart for men run large- the way I want them to. I am 6'1" ~270 and the 2XL still has plenty of room for layers. This purchase was primarily for motorcycle riding. As for wind and water resistance and coolness- this jacket is top notch. Not great for motorcycle riding in the rain. I found I was unable to get the wrists tight enough to seal out rain and rain ran down my neck (open face helmet). This is on a full dressed Harley with a fairing and nearly full height windshield. All this said- this experience was in a full deluge on the interstate. I am not sure anything would have kept us dry. I assume real motorcycle gear would fair much better- but for dual purpose, it is fine. When I wore this fishing- it was perfect to keep the wind and rain out. I do wear it on those cool mornings just to cut the wind- it is perfect.I like having the hood attached and storable. This material is thick/stiff and somewhat hard to manipulate if it is in the way (collar- with hood stored). Kinda hard to stowaway, but I normally have the room. Weighing the price and other options available, I would recommend this to a friend.

Had second thoughts on this jacket, raised it to a 3 star
The Frogg Toggs Rain Jacket is definitely for a pretty narrow purpose. It works well at keeping you dry if you need to be out in the rain for an extended period . On the positive side, it is waterproof and it is light weight and can easily carry it in your hand should you need to. It has a hood and has both a zipper and snaps for tight closure. On the negative side, the feel of the material is like a piece of burlap spray-coated with plastic. There are no interior pockets and two exterior pockets which are placed so far back on the jacket that it is more like putting a wallet in your back pocket. If you are looking for something waterproof that you would consider when it isn't raining hard, I would look elsewhere.Update 5/2021: The jacket is still going strong after 8 years and my main jacket for walking in the rain. I have become used to the bulky and stiff feel, appreciating its functionality in keeping out rain rather than concerned about its clunky feel. I also found that the fact that it doesn't breathe is a benefit in very cold weather. Have worn it in the snow with a sweatshirt underneath and it traps the heat inside. The inverse is that it is also quite warm if you wear it in the summer.

High and dry
I had the opportunity to wear these is a pretty good rainstorm today. I was outside on a vessel with no where to get out of the rain. The air temperature was 66 degrees and maybe a 10 knot wind. I was comfortably warm, not too hot, not cold at all. The jacket performed very well. The only issue was the zipper leaked through in one spot. I did forget to fasten the fabric cover over the zipper, however, so that might have been the root reason for the one spot where I was wet underneath. The only problem I have with this jacket is the collar and hood. The material is rather stiff and it did rub on my chin and was not very comfortable. It wasn't that bad when the hood was actually worn up. Overall this was a great jacket and performed well for the price. I am not sure how much better it could be.
