Does this grill gripper work well with the big green egg cast iron grill grate?

I just got the cast iron grate and it works but not necessarily well. It isn’t wide enough to clamp more than one line on the cast iron grid. It will pick it up and I do use it on mine though.

The photo shows it has a hole in the handle for hanging purposes, one comment says it needs a hole. Does it or doesn’t it have a hole?

I have a Blaze charcoal grill (egg style) The grates are heavy and 3/8 inch thick will this work?

I don’t think so. These work on the regular small grate. I also have the heavy duty grid and these won’t work on those

What type of stainless steel is this? Is it solid stainless steel?

It’s stamped steel that’s plenty thick enough to work better than expected. It isn’t stainless steel but it’s been polished and maybe zinc plated steel
