Cheap. That's why you're looking at this set, right? Well, it's very cheap.
You get what you pay for, and I quickly upgraded my lighting kit, but if you want to just try out a stand and some umbrellas, or want a cheap backup (or 2nd light), this is... fine. Look, it's a value proposition and not a complete piece of garbage, so 4* from me.Stand - very unstable. No problem indoors, but your umbrella will absolutely fall over outdoors with just a breeze. My new LumoPro stand has feet that lie flush with the ground, plus spikes.Bracket - plastic, cheap. Didn't fall apart, but think carefully if you want to trust your speedlight to it. If you're using a cheap Neewer... why not?Umbrellas - perfectly serviceable. You get 3, so you can play with different styles.Bag - I'm happy they gave me a bag. Not padded, but I could carry everything in the kit plus a monopod.Warning: the kit, esp. the stand and umbrella, do not compact enough to fit into a carry-on. In fact, you'll have to fit it diagonally in a typical suitcase before checking it. There are stands and umbrellas that compact to carry-on dimensions. Just be aware of dimensions. So, like I said, it's a cheap kit, emphasis on cheap. Worth $33 to figure out if you want to dip your hand in strobist photography, probably well paired with a Neewer or YN flash (under $100), but if you're even remotely serious, just go for the better options, esp. the stand and bracket, which potentially protect much more expensive investments.

Great value for stand and umbrellas, but you may want to purchase a better bracket.
For the price I paid (~$35) this is a great kit. The stand is reasonably sturdy on an even surface, though I wouldn't count on using it outside in the wind or on uneven ground without weighing it down somehow. The umbrellas are good quality and work great for an indoor mini studio. I mostly use this for shooting product photography or setting up a tiny studio at the animal shelter to photograph cats. The one thing I am planning on replacing is the universal bracket. This piece is all plastic, nothing seems to tighten down very well, and the part that connects to the shoe of your flash is a pain to work with! Still, you can order a better bracket for around $10, and STILL get a great value out of the stand and umbrellas! The carrying case is not super durable, but it does hold everything and has a strap to throw over your shoulder, so if you're not super rough on your equipment, this kit will serve you fairly well.

So far so good
This is a pretty well built item for the price. When I was unpacking it I noticed that the "carry case" that it came in was torn on the side so that's going to have to be replaced asap but other than that the stand and the umbrellas themselves were pretty ok. When you open the umbrellas you would definitely want to be careful (as you would any other product that you own.) The material that it is made out of seems pretty sturdy as well. When I put everything together I grabbed it by the head of the stand and picked it up and shook it to see if there was going to be any wobbling and there wasn't. Overall pretty pleased with the product itself but that carry case was not all that....just saying. Can't wait to put everything together with the lights and all that to really see how everything works.

Good starter kit - NOT for professionals
I purchased this kit as my first ever lighting kit to help soften my off-camera flash for outdoor portrait photography as well as wedding photography. The kit was great as a starter kit and for only $30, the price can't be beat. Now, about a year later, the white umbrella (only one I use) has a few missing pieces, and the mount that connects the the flash to the stand and the umbrella is broken beyond repair (no drops, just normal use). The stand is still in decent shape, but the top is wobbly, and the whole thing is so light and small that it's constantly wanting to fall over at the slightest gust of wind.I'll be purchasing a newer, more heavy-duty set soon now that I've got extra money to invest, but this did me well as a starter kit!

Good set of umbrellas for change in tone in pictures
I've never used umbrellas for photography before so I decided to give these a try. Using them for off-camera flash with my canon flash does a very nice job. You definitely get different toner changes using these and it's been pretty fun getting to use them. I definitely suggest getting a sandbag to add to the tripod in order to add stability to the umbrella bases has any slight wind that catches these can tip over.

Great lightstand setup for speedlight photography
This is a simple, but sturdy lightstand, decent umbrellas, and a very nice speedlight mount head. All of it comes in a nice bag with a carrying strap for easy transport. This is not a $100 or more stand, however, it is sturdy enough for a speedlignt (or three), and umbrella, and even a softbox (just make sure you have the legs weighted down or spiked). For the price you can get a three light setup of stands and umbrellas for less than $100. They'll hold up well to mostly normal use, but if something does happen you're not hit in the wallet to severely replacing them. Even a single light setup with a remote flash and one of these stands is very affordable making the move into flash photography off camera available to anyone at a reasonable price.

It works, but not exceptionally.
The Neewer Umbrella and stand kit works as advertised, but has a few issues. This product is very much you get what you pay for. The stand is not too bad, although there is no adjustability to contour to ground that isn't level. It has a base that is wide enough when the stand is at a normal height, but it becomes shaky when it is raised to it's maximum height. The bracket doesn't hold flashes too well, and I've often had them slip out and fall to the ground. This can be easily fixed by tightening the thumb screw as much as possibleAs for the umbrellas, I have mixed opinions. Both the silver and the gold umbrellas seem to be very sturdy and have thus far had no problems. The shoot through umbrella has some problems though, as it seems to be weaker than it's shiny brothers. The part that holds the material in an outstretched position fell into the rod quickly after purchase and I now use a binder clip to hold it properly.Although it has a few pitfalls, this has been one of my best purchases in photography, as it has given me much creative control over my light.

Good place to start, reflectors unsuitable for continuous lighting
I'm an amateur just starting out with lighting for video. Bought these to hold Aputure LED constant lighting panels, so I'm not using the supplied flash mount.First thing to note is that these stands have a 1/4"-20 (consumer tripod mount) threat atop the mounting boss covered by a removable plastic cap. This makes the end too long for a standard light to catch the inner groove. I hacksawed the 1/4-20 thread off because it's useless to me. The metal is very soft and fixing screws mark it pretty quickly which was all the more reason to get rid of the 1/4-20 thread (so the light mount could get a good grip on the mounting boss groove).Second thing to note is that though the diffusion umbrella seems to work okay (loses about 1-1.5 stops of light to a first approximation with my lights), the reflective 'brellas are next to useless with "spot" LED panels. Might work okay with wide angle panels, but they have their own problems. Probably works fine with flash given wide enough angle which, to be fair, is what they're intended to work with.Otherwise, does what it says on the tin. Not ruggedly constructed, but good enough for casual use and for beginners.

Cheap but does the job
I guess it's a good set for the price. The stand is really lightweight, it's good for transportation as it comes with a pouch but bad for outdoor photography, coz even lightest wind will blow away that stand together with your Speedlite. Nothing special tbh, but it's perfect for a newbie like me. Coz it does the job. But I have a feeling it will break really quickly

Best piece of kit
Let me make this simple for you!1. Two regular light stands. Both black. Good height. Well built. Will last you long depends on usage.2. 6 umbrellas. 2 of each colour. Not that strong nor good quality. For my wedding shoots. Twice a week. I think it will last me a year. Maybe less.3. The stand mount. It's same as any other ones you can get from Amazon. Good quality. Holds onto the stand and holds the flash and umbrella very well.Overall. For the price it's one of the best purchase I've made.If I need another kit, i will buy again.I would recommend this to anyone. Even to professionals. For the price it's brilliant

ideal cheap home studio set up
none of the equipment here is of a phenomenally high standard, it will not last forever and is not going to stand up to the rigours of lots of hard daily use in a commercial or pro environment, however for someone that does home portrait style shoots on a semi pro or hobby basis this is a good cost effective starting point to see if you can work with speedlights. its a far cheaper option than studio lighting and light modifiers, is functional and does what it is intended to do but has its limitations.

Ok for the price
Nice little kit to start with but it's not very sturdy and you have to be careful with the screws as they come off easily. Also the bit where you attach the flash is a bit wobbly and doesn't screw tight so be careful not to drop your light. The umbrellas are OK quality and they do what says on the box. Would recommend if you are on a tight budget as it does what it says on the box but if you have a choice I would recommend getting something more sturdy.
