I can't figure how to make either one work?

1) First screw pump tightly on to the Liter product bottle securely 2) While holding the pump base (2 Lower Rings) with one hand turn the spigot firmly counter clockwise to UN-lock the pump 3) after the pump is UN-locked continue to pump so the product can be primed, slightly squeeze the container (if permissible) to aid in the priming process.
