The banana arm is very easy to attach.This is the first time I have owned a flat based wire bowl, before I have only had a traditional, round glass or wood bowl.What I like with this bowl, is the flat bottom which means the fruit doesn't roll on top of each other and allows fruit to sit separately. You have to add quite a bit before you even get to a 2nd layer meaning softer fruit doesn't get squashed.And with a flat base, you can also put more delicate fruit in a bowl that sits flat on the bottom.The plate I have shown in the photo is 24cm / 9.5" diameter and a larger plate could fit in.Somehow, the flat bottom seems to make the bowl able to hold more produce.I also really like the wire bowl which allows air to circulate and stops buried, over-ripe fruit from pooling liquid at the bottom, like you often get in a traditional bowl. It is easy to wash as it just needs a quick rinse under the tap now and then.I am slightly puzzled by reviews saying the bananas make the bowl unsteady. When I put bananas on the hook, even in a totally empty bowl, and pushing down on the far edge of the bowl to try and budge it, it still wasn't about to topple over. Not even with larger bananas than shown in the photos.I'm very happy with it and it looks very smart in my black and white kitchen.

Our old fruit bowl was nice, but it wasnt quite big enough. So I ordered this one. At first my wife was sceptical, like "do we need a new fruit bowl?" But then I showed her how much more fruit it holds and she was thrilled. Very pleased with how that worked out.
