Q: Could i make plant pots from this?

Since this is only air dried, I don’t think It would hold up to moisture from a plant

Q: After dry it can melt in water?.

Melt may not be the correct word, but it will break down.

Q: Being that it's water soluable would it not work for making a planter?

Not without using a painted sealer or glaze after letting it dry once and letting the glaze dry again.

Q: Can I make figurines with it? Or is the other clay preferable?

i've made beads and other small figures and it seems to work great
