Superb earphones!
These are, in my humble opinion, a superb bit of kit. I would say they are not quite a flat-response, perfectly neutral sound - the bass response is pushed a bit, although not drastically so. Also perhaps the lower-treble frequencies just pushed a tad. But they do still sound very good with no eq-ing needed - that said, I found an improvement for my taste by curving off the bass frequencies a little below about 150Hz, and also putting in a slight dip in the frequencies around 1 to 2 kHz. Sounds like I'm a bit of a tech-head nerd, but I've just been using the graphic eq on the free VLC Player app with an Amazon Fire 7 tablet - don't laugh - the sound from this combination is way better than I could have ever hoped, so nice one Amazon with the Fire 7, it makes a very fine music player. But anyhow - great, great earphones - they do have the smooth quality others have mentioned, and perhaps just bring in a touch of warmth - perhaps just a subtle added "gloss" or sheen on the sound. You definitely can listen for an extended time without fatigue. But that is not to say there is a lack of detail, or the earphones are at all muddy - quite the opposite, it's an exciting listen - the sounds are vivid and involving, with a lot of resolution, texture and timbre being brought out. Vocals are presented very nicely, and you really can hear a lot of the character and subtlety in a singer's voice. The bass is tight and extends properly down to the lowest frequencies, but again with texture and clarity preserved well. Different instruments on tracks are well separated and resolved, and seem placed quite precisely in the stereo field. Anyhow - honestly, it's an absolute treat, and I'm over the moon with the sound quality - this is my first pair of in-ear phones of this type, but I speak as a musician and music lover who has used and owned quite a few pairs of quality on/over ear headphones from Sennheiser and other brands over the years - these Brainwavz earphones would give the best of those a run for their money, and (in my view) wipe the floor with any sub-£50 over-ear headphones I've tried - it's proper hi-fi stuff. I listen to a wide range of music - jazz, classical, 80s pop, ambient, indie - I could go on, but these in-ears are versatile and work well with everything.Build quality seems very good - time will tell I guess, but I can't find anything to fault, and the minimal, streamlined design, although not as flashy looking as some in-ears, makes perfect sense, and they are comfortable in use. I'm getting excellent results with the tips that came fitted, but it is nice that a pretty comprehensive selection of tips, including Comply ones, are included. The included little semi-rigid carry box is great too. Very nice packaging - perhaps a bit OTT (given everything fits in the small carry case) but it certainly inspires confidence. If I had one slight nit-pick, it might be that the sensitivity could be a little better - i.e. some listeners might want a bit more maximum volume on tap used with something like the Fire tablet or a smartphone - but that said, I'm happy enough - for me they cover the sensible volume range perfectly well, and I don't want to get into ear-splitting levels.I did also have the Soundmagic E10 and Beyerdynamic Byrons on my shortlist to consider, and I'd still be interested to try those, but I am blown away by just how good these Brainwavz earphones are, and I feel I made a very good choice indeed - they are really inspiring me to listen to a lot of my favourite music again, and also to find new things to try. Anyhow, great for build quality, presentation and included extras, and the sound is just so good, it has to be a 5 star from me. :)

Would recommend, but definatly needs some improvements.
I have used Soundmagic E10s and sony headphones, but the E10s break evey 6 months, with high use, the warranty doesn't cover general wear and tear. The E10s have a great midrange and bass, but i thought i would try another brand...The box is overcomplicated as it is a retail package, i would prefer a brown box, and a lower price, there is a nice selection of earbuds, especially the bi-flange and comply foam tips. I find the hard shell storage case useless as i always carry the IEMs in my pocket. The shirt clip is complete trash, it is way too big and due to the flat cable very hard to use, i have always used a shirt clip as it reduces cable noise and stops the ear buds falling out when moving. The sound is way too bright and becomes fatiguing, so i use a treble equaliser, but the midrange and bass are great. The frequency is not as low as the E10s but roughly the same amount of air moved and equal tightness. Noise cancelling is amazing with the bi-flange tips, the power/volume is a lot higher, you would never want to use full volume on most phones.I am not sure about long term durability but the metal construction, flat cable, large 3.5mm headphone jack connector and red rubber headpone connector, should last longer than the E10s even whilst riding MTB and communting.

Good sound quality, low durability
I had to ask for a replacement 2-3 weeks after receiving the earphones as I've dropped them to the floor (by accident) and the right one had serious impact on the sound quality. At least I've encountered very good customer service in regards to the replacement procedure. Thank you for that. HOWEVER, I dropped the replacement (by accident, again) and it's not like I threw them or something... and guess what... the right one had a serious decrease of sound quality, AGAIN. They're still working, but not at 100%, more like 60%.I won't buy again for sure.Overall good quality, but terrible durability.Regards

Headphones that will last, with great sound quality
Bought these as a present for my nephew, having used an older set of brainwaves myself. Which have been going over 2 year.Again these headphones have a good build quality which for a 16 year old is needed. The sound quality is very good no noise distortion even with a lot of base.Plays well at high sound level.Comes with lots of earbuds including a foam pair which are super comfy.Having the control on the headphones themselves is a must for me.And they come with a 2 year warranty, which shows confidence in quality. For £29.99 these are an excellent set of headphones certainly on par or better than some of the more expensive brands

Poor build quality
Having previously owned the Brainwavz M4 which were great but sadly died after years of heavy use I decided to give the Brainwavz S0 a go.After burning in the earphones, I attached the foam tips and had a listen. The sound quality was great! A crisper sound than the M4 but just as good. After around 6 months of use one of the earphones stopped working so I contacted Brainwavz who said they would send a replacement once I returned the broken pair at my own cost. After around 6 months use with the replacement pair the same thing happened again, one of the earphones stopped working. I contacted Brainwavz and asked if there was a known fault with the S0 but they said there wasn’t so I paid to return them and they sent me another replacement.Around 4 months use with my third pair of S0 and one of the earphones has stopped working again! It’s such a shame as I really do like Brainwavz earphones and the sound quality they produce however having to pay to return four pairs of earphones is pretty much the same cost as just buying a pair of brand new earphones!Sadly, I now need to find some new earphones.Recommendations welcome!
