I really like the price and functionality
I'm not primarily an ecollar trainer, but I have used this on 30 or so dogs I've trained (out of 4,000). I really like the price and functionality. It doesn't ramp up the shock too fast. It's got good durability and is well built. I only use ecollars that also vibrate. Once the dog is basically trained to he shock (doesn't take long) then the vibrate can replace the shock. This means the collar can be worn more loosely. This biggest issue with ecollars is pressure sores over time. The second biggest issue is the APDT Association thinking that any correction for any reason on any dog is brutal. It isn't. For certain dogs and certain situations ecollars save dogs from going to the pound and being put to sleep. This is the only collar I recommend because I only use it for general aversion training, not high end sport training. If that's what you're getting one for then get this one 100%. Nothing else. And get some instruction on how to use it properly.

This works great!! It was a little bit hard to figure out at first but now that I have it figured out I love it. The battery lasts for a long time. And it's actually helping with training.

Solid Traing Collar
Iโve been using the DT Systems Micro iDT PLUS e-collar for a few days now, and overall, Iโm really impressed with its performance. The collar is lightweight, compact, and seems very durable, even in challenging conditions. The 900-yard range is fantastic for outdoor training, and the MAXX-Range 360 technology ensures I donโt lose signal, no matter where I am. I really appreciate the 16 levels of adjustable stimulation, which makes it easy to tailor the collar to my dogโs temperament. The Gentle Touch system is a nice feature, offering milder stimulation and even a vibration option for a more humane training approach. Itโs also great that the collar is waterproof, which gives me peace of mind during wet weather. The design is sleek, and I like that the collar fits a wide range of dog sizes (from 6" to 22"), making it versatile for different breeds. The automatic shut-off after 8 seconds is a smart safety feature that prevents accidental over-stimulation. The only reason Iโm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the add-on collars for expanding to multiple dogs are sold separately, which adds to the overall cost. However, for the price and features, itโs a solid choice for any dog owner looking for a reliable training tool. Overall, the DT Systems Micro iDT PLUS is an excellent e-collar that offers great value for the money, and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Great Collar
Great collar for the value. Works well distance-wise, is a bit cumbersome on the dog, but he didn't seem to mind until he misbehaved. You can adjust the 'shock value' appropriately. The vibrate function is handy. So far, the collar has held up nicely; however, the charger did not. Somehow, it was picked up with food, and we found it later in the bottom of the cooler in 2" of water. Tried the hair dryer method, the rice method, to no avail. Am now trying to find a replacement charger. Be aware the male connector to the collar is small, and hard to match with any other charger. I'll try to update with respect to availability of replacement charger.

Too much of a hassle for me.
I bought this to use as a bark/behavior deterrent for my English Bulldog. Traditional no-bark collars don't work with him because of his wrinkly neck. While this worked, it had too many negatives for me to keep it. One thing was that the collar has a NI-MH battery. 12 hours to charge, more or less. It can be overcharged, and that can limit the performance of the battery. Even new, the charge only lasted for 1-2 days (depending on amount of use), and then you'd have to charge it for 12 hours, which, for us, would usually include at least an hour of barking while we waited for the charge. Why not just charge it every day, you say? Because it can overcharge. If you plug it in before you go to bed, you need to unplug it as soon as you get up/as soon as the green "charged" light comes on. Since we only reach for it when the dog is misbehaving, remembering to unplug the collar was a hassle I didn't want, especially at this price point. It wasn't something I thought about before I bought the collar, but it was the major reason for the return. Once when I was plugging it in for recharge, a large spark came out of the collar and gave me a little zap. I wasn't real comfortable with it after that. Now, this is somewhat picky, but since I noticed it and it bothered me, I thought I'd share this last thought. The remote comes with a lanyard. Great. But the lanyard attaches to the top of the remote, next to the antenna. In practice, that meant that if you had the remote around your neck, you would need to turn it around and upside down to work the buttons. This means a lag time of giving the dog a correctlive response, which means -- at least for our stubborn dog -- that he's gonna keep on trying until the zaps get more instantaneous. So, that meant I walked around the house with the remote in my hand, at the ready to push the appropriate button. Real inconvenient. Other brands have belt clips or the lanyard attaches to the bottom of the remote, so there are choices out there. Also, FYI, if you get it, you may notice that there is a switch for 3 different settings, for 3 different dogs. I could not find reference anywhere in the instructions as to which setting belonged to the collar that came with the remote. Through trial and error, I discovered it's the black dot. On the plus side, the set seems to be solidly built and of good quality, and, as I said, it does provide the stimulation. Also, the adjustment for the degree of stimulation is easy to reach and has good feedback as you click through the levels.

Changed our life!
I would buy this product a million times over! My husband and I own a 1 year old American Bull Terrier. She is a rescue and we love her dearly! She is also deaf. When she was rescued she was just roaming the streets and fields which we realize now she probably loved. She also loves people and if given the opportunity will bolt away from our home and any member of our family until she becomes tired. In a 2 month span we chased her for up to 2 miles around our neighborhood and even over an interstate overpass! Those were very scary times. Our animals are like family to us and it was the hardest thing to witness. We tried everything from putting up baby gates to spankings to a lead rope out in our yard. Each time she would find her way out of the house and bolt in whatever direction she saw fit and no consequence was steep enough. We were at our wits end! It was either let her leave and not chase her (which is not something I can handle) or continue to chase her and live on eggshells wondering if someone closed the door all the way or if she was going to bolt out because someone held the door open too long. It was an absolute paranoid nightmare. This training collar was our last resort other than rehoming her (which wouldn't fix her problem) or letting her roam free because we knew it would happen again. So after a 2 mile chase one night and many tears later I read the review of the previous gentleman and decided it was time to do something about this issue. We ordered the collar and made sure it was charged. I must say I wasn't nearly ready to let her outside the house without a leash but it had to be done. I have too big of a heart as well so I gave the remote to my husband to use as he saw was necessary. She wasn't sure what to make of it at first but within 5 minutes she tried to bolt. My husband set the setting to 8 or so. She proceeded to run up the hill thru our neighbors yard. My husband gave her a nick. She yelped at the first nick she felt and then kept going... did not slow down. So he then used the continuous funtion. She yelped a few more times but she found it harder to run and eventually slowed down and made her way to the top of our yard. When my husband released the shock she took off again. He hit her with the continuous feature and she yelped a few more times and then came running back to my side. Although very upsetting and painful for me to watch I knew that this had to be done or lose our family member! That was 3 weeks ago. Today we have only had to nick her 1 time since then! She stays in the yard and knows where the boundaries are! She has occassionally followed our older dog out of the yard when they are playing but immediately comes back into the yard! We are sure to give her LOTS and LOTS of praise and treats so that she knows she is doing what we are wanting and rewarding the behavior. Although I'm sure she thinks about bolting more often than not, we have finally found a consequence she does not want to endure. I have become less stressed and less worried about her running away. We make sure to allow our dogs plenty of time to play TOGETHER (FINALLY) outside so that they can run off their energy since they are big dogs. This allows myself and my entire family to spend time together outside and not constantly be worried about having to chase her down! I know that this is a hard decision to make for those of you out there that are considering this option, and I promise you that you won't regret it. In a few short weeks our Lani has learned to stay in the yard and near the family and has NOT bolted yet! It changed my life and the life of my family. We are no longer running barefoot thru the neighborhood hoping to spot a glimpse of a white dog running thru others yards. Now we are all together as a family OUTSIDE and everyone is enjoying the company of each other and our pets! Good luck to those of you out there. I hope you find what you are looking for! I would recommend this product for sure. The only negative I have about this system is that it does not tell you ANYTHING about when the collar flashes GREEN but we have realized that it is an indication light telling us that it is charged and ready to go. Flashing red means it needs to be charged. I HOPE THIS HELPS!!!! and ENJOY YOUR PETS!!!

Outstanding!
To start, please don't kid yourself - this (and others like it) is a shock collar. Calling it a "correction" or "e" collar is just a nice way of making oneself feel better about what you're doing. But for those of you with out of control dogs, dogs you have tried to train through every available method (like we did), AND those who do not take using a shock collar lightly, this is a great product. To explain, our yellow lab is Marley's little sister. Super smart, able to execute multiple commands (when she feels like it), given tons of exercise and proper attention, but bursting at the seams with energy - basically the epitome of ADHD. If she hears you, she obeys. But when there's something interesting distracting her... say, a squirrel on the power line, or kid playing too close to our driveway... all bets are off. Even the trainer we took her to was glad to send her home (and that's saying something, given the dangerous dogs he works with). Anyway, we tried the PetSmart "Big Dog' collar. It worked wonders when she wasn't too distracted (a 5/10 would cause a surprised "yelp"), and was more than enough for our other dogs (on whom a 2/10 was overkill), but when she was in that particular state of mind, even a 10/10 didn't affect her. Not even a twitch. Now not only for correcting bad behavior, but for the dogs (and others) safety, a "shock" collar can be a very useful tool. Should she start to run into the street, or decide she wants to jump on one's 70-year-old grandmother, for example, being able to get her attention is priceless. And this collar delivers. Obviously it is our hope that we can decrease its use gradually over time, but for now, it's a godsend. Already just wearing it causes her to tone it down a notch (I told you she was smart...). All in all, we highly recommend this if you are in the market for a shock collar. *On a side note, our trainer didn't recommend this type of collars lightly, but did admit that in rare instances (i.e. where a dog is so aggressive as to be a danger to others), this type of collar can be a way to effectively retrain him out of that aggressive state of mind, in effect becoming a potentially life-saving tool. Our dog wasn't dangerous in this way, but we still found it to be incredibly helpful.

very good!
the color works well for both of my dogs. Love it! My dogs shows good obedience without color, but we use it in case. It is great for dogs who love to swim (just be careful with using "nick"). I would recommend to everyone to take a class with instructor at dog training school. We had class how to use the color with our dogs.
