Q: What is the outside diameter of the wood case of the clock?

The one I ordered is square~not round as the attached pix shows. The square version of this clock is 4"x4".

Q: For the clock with the square frame, what is the diameter of the clock face?

The face of the clock itself measures 2 7/8 inches. The back light does not stay on. It is activated by pressing a small button on the back. When released the light goes back off.

Q: How to stop the ticking sound? It is extremely annoying

I have the round clock, if that makes a difference. And there is no ticking sound. Sorry I can't help.
