Simple product and easy to install and get set up and working. Timer is useful and easy to set and overall product feels high quality.I had a Cyanobacteria problem in my tropical tank and it helped remove that and improved overall water clarity.Just be mindful that it does seem to increase water temperature so you may need to adjust heater temp to allow for this. I’d recommend monitoring for a few days after install.

One of the best purchase , i ever made . It well worth the value of the money ,it has removed all the brown algae form my tank . Water is now super clean . Just plug it to you filter outlet and let it do its works . I have set it to run on 12 hours but it has few other time functions to run like 24 hours and others.

Installed before the night shift. Got home from work the next morning and AMAZING. Almost crystal clear water already. Very pleased with it and highly recommend. It was easy to install. I can see everything in the tank now. 5 star purchase. I haven't screwed it to the cabinet yet, but I will give it a go on the weekend. I'm worried about cracking the pipes, so I might just leave it as is.

This is a great product, easy and straightforward to fit but you will need a brand new rubber connector if you have to trim your existing filter outlet hose to fit (which you may have to do to avoid having an excessive loop as you now have an extra length of hose attached between the filter and the unit - you connect your existing hose to the unit itself).I fitted my unit in the evening, didn’t take long at all, trimmed my existing hose to the right length expecting that I could use the existing rubber connector, discovered that they cannot be re-used once removed and due to the length of time to get a new connector my filter had to remain off for a few days - fish keepers will know the problems this caused for me.It proved easier and faster to get a whole new filter delivered, I stuck with Fluval and got a shiny new FX6...which this UV unit does not fit and will shortly be listed on eBay!That being said, the unit is great, it does what it says and it is unobtrusive. If it fitted my new filter I would have kept it. If Fluval gave sufficient advice in their instructions I probably would have known I would need a new connector and I wouldn’t have a crashed biological filter but also I wouldn’t have the FX6 which is a superb piece of kit.Fluval include new hose to fit the unit, they should include a single new hose connector because most are going to need it. The instructions say to be so so careful cutting the hose to fit and they advise that there should be no loops or kinks in the hose, it shouldn’t be excessive in length returning to the tank. That I did not have a new connector has ended up costing me over £300 - new filter, new UV unit, the rubber connectors that took so long to arrive, and wine to soothe my sorrow! And there will be replacement fish to buy once the new filter is fully cycled.

This item is easy to mount/fit, controls easy to use and the led bulb life indicator will be useful, however with the item being designed for exiilsting fluval external filters, it only comes with 1 hose, making attachment to sump systems with return pumps a real pain as the fitting size seems specifically designed for the rubberised ends of a fluval filter hose.I have attached mine using a bit of brute force and silicon to adapt it into my sump based system and it works ok.Ideally 2 hoses should be suppliedThis is a sealed unit and you cannot change the bulb or strip it for cleaning.

It's quite a deep unit, and is best fitted inside a cabinet but works great.It has an inbuilt timer and a decent warranty so should last for a while.
