Long bars are perfect for my camper
I've had shorter Yakima crossbars for years and they have served me well, though they sagged in the middle over time. I needed these long ones to span my camper (7'). I actually have them mounted on Swagman towers, as they have to mount to the edges of the roof, but Swagman's large, square crossbars weren't compatible with my kayak carrier. The long bars are both larger diameter and thicker walled than the shorter bars. These things are really stout, and I'm very pleased!

damaged bars
The bars arrived damaged. I don't really know who to contact about it and they are too long and heavy to try to send back. The vinyl covering on one bar is severely gouged, but the packaging was in-tact and does not appear to be a shipping issue. I am sure they will be useable, but for the expense they should be in good condition when new.

84' Yakima Bars
I kept the outer delivery box unopened in my garage until I finally had the time and equipment to machine and install the bars on my kayak trailer today. The outer delivery box was undamaged. However the interior box from the mfr had a big gouge, and one of the bars has a 5" gouge in the coating, rendering it unusable
