Will this work with a fly default helmet?

It should. However depending on how fast you plan on going I recommend having a lanyard on it attached or looped through the helmet straps. Mine came off at about 100mph.

Will this work if I'm wearing my Leatt neck brace?

It doesn’t allow the helmet to move freely downwards. The gripper strikes against the neck brace. I don’t recommend to use it with the neck brace. If you use it without the the brace is perfect!!

Has anyone mounted this to a closed face hemet like for autocross? If so, does it get bothersome?

Yes i use this mount on my helmet off-road and on . i ride with the mount and my go pro every time i ride. It is not annoying in any way its light and has super strong clamp springs so it never comes loose or jiggles . my helmet is a bell dual sport full face with visor and sheild super hi vis yellow. I hope this helps

Durability and quick change of cam position.

It is possible to place it quick on several parts of bike or clothes, so you can make really nice shots from different angles. Durability looks good, I thing it can survive for long time use also in off-road. I would recomand this cam bracket to any user, who like to change the cam position quick and several time in one ride.
