inside dimensions
In the description of this item, what was left out was the most important thing: the inside measurements. FYI: The inside dimensions are, 3.5" X 1.75"Had I known this, I wouldn't have ordered the item, since 3.5" X 1.75" is too small for the application I wanted. I needed 5" X 2".I didn't return the order, because my wife had another use and wanted to keep it.

Extremely Effective, Well-Built Diversion Safe!
I gave this product 5 stars simply because it completely matched its description in every way. I have seen others comment that they received a can with a different color/label, and while it would be nice to be able to pick which one you receive, they ultimately do the job just as effectively. Lets face it: A burglar isn't going to look at a different color/brand and say "That must be a diversion safe because it isn't the most usual color/brand, I better check and make sure."Quality: The quality is excellent! I have screwed and unscrewed the bottom MANY times, and it still hasn't shown even a hint of wear. The bottom is screwed on and off effortlessly as well, and the inside is lined with foam that will to an adequate job of protecting any fragile items you place inside it.Effectiveness: After receiving it in the mail, I went and bought an identical can of actual shaving cream. Trust me when I say that there is absolutely no difference whatsoever! Even if you don't receive the same color that is pictured, it is still going to match a "real" can that is sold in stores everywhere. Mine came with a block of foam on the inside that wasn't part of the foam lining, so I use that to take up any extra space so you can't hear/feel the items moving around when you pick it up.I wouldn't recommend keeping it out in the open, because if someone tries using it for shaving cream, they might throw it away once they see that nothing comes out, or they might get suspicious since there isn't any residue of shaving creme anywere on it at all. For this reason, I would recommend buying an identical can of actual shaving cream, and placing them both underneath the sink where they'll be out of sight. Be sure to put the real can of shaving cream in front, so if someone goes looking for any, they'll grab the real can first and hopefully ignore the diversion safe. Lastly, I would also recommend getting a little bit of shaving cream and rubbing it inside and around the nozzle, so it will appear to have been used up if someone does try to use it. It's not a foolproof way of keeping them from finding out that it's a diversion safe, but it will help. One other bit of advice I will offer is to buy a cheap/inexpensive lockbox, put some worthless items inside to give it some weight, and leave that out in the open. Chances are, a burglar isn't going to go to the trouble of opening it while he's there. He'll probably just take it with him and open it later when he doesn't have to worry about being caught. The point of this is that if he sees an obvious lockbox, he isn't going to be thinking at all of looking for a diversion safe (and lets face it, the chances of him looking for a diversion safe are slim to none regardless, this is just if you want to take as many precautions as possible to keep your items inside the diversion safe from being stolen).Overall, I would say this is a very effective diversion safe, certainly one of my favorites.

This thing is amazing! You would NEVER know that it's not an actual shaving cream can. We had a bad experience years ago when someone we thought was a friend stole from us. It really changed our perspective. We started to feel like we needed to hide our valuables when having anyone over - I hate being paranoid like that, but unfortunately when someone steals from you, you start to wonder who you can really trust. After that incident, we began keeping our valuables in a safe. Then one day I said to my fiance, "If someone were to break into our house, isn't a safe kind of obvious? Wouldn't they end up just grabbing the safe and running off with it?"The idea of that made us even more paranoid, and that's why we resorted to this!Unless your thief has recently looked on Amazon for products like this one, you can bet that he/she will never know to look inside of this can. Like I said before, it's so authentic looking. The compartment is perfect for the few things we want to keep in it, but like another reviewer said, if you want to store larger items, I'd suggest something something bigger. This will also be perfect for vacationing as well - just make sure that no one thinks it's an empty can and throws it out! That is probably the only downside of this item. You could probably make this yourself if you prefer - it wouldn't be all that difficult, but it was worth the cost for me.Also, the bottom is easy to remove, but it stays firmly shut once closed.

Fun gift
The quality isn’t outstanding, but overall it’s a cheap price for a fun and easy gift. I gave this to a Jurassic park fan and the van has made good use as a hide-a-key.

Blends well
Really blends in! I was surprised by how well the bottom screws into the can. You wouldn't think to look in it if it was in your bathroom.

Just like Jurassic Park but without the embryo
Jurassic Park is one of my favorite movies. This shaving cream can resembles the same can that they used in the movie. It does not have storage area for embryos but works great if you want to hide items while traveling.

Nobody would have thought to steal it because it looks exactly like shaving cream
This is an incredible and indispensable item. I used it on a camping trip and hid the key to my car in it during the event. Nobody would have thought to steal it because it looks exactly like shaving cream. Unfortunately I ended up keeping my key in my pocket because I found another can with viable dinosaur embryos in it and put them in my can (the coolant was fresher in mine). A must have item for any wilderness expedition.By the way, you are probably thinking (as I did) that the bottom screws off directly from the sides of the can. The bottom is actually stuck to the lid of a large plastic jar (like what Tylenol would come in) that is shoved up in the can. It still unscrews and looks convincing, but you cannot put items as large as what you would think in there (the remote unlock for my car did not fit). However, it is still worth buying if for a laugh if nothing else.(the bottom did come unglued once, but a little hot glue fixed it very well)
