Junk.
Poor quality. You have to get a chip or it won’t work. Don’t do it.

Dissemble key first before cutting
I had the key cut at Lowe’s. I had to disassemble the key from the fob in order for it to fit their machine. Even then the key couldn’t be pushed all the way in but I talk to the cool associate guy working there and he agreed to cut it for me even if it didn’t work and heyyyyyyy…. it works! Truck starts.

Didn’t last a month
Was nice for the first couple of weeks. Around week three I noticed that the key was loose and wouldn’t stay in the open position when in the ignition. I have very little on my key ring so I’m not sure if it was the weight of the key ring, or turning the key in the ignition itself that caused it to break. Regardless the material in that area seems very weak. I tried to super glue it back on which worked a few days but eventually broke off inside again. I know the photo looks like burn marks but I assure you I only used super glue. Hopefully the manufacturer can remedy that problem because all in all it’s very convenient not to have more than needed on a key ring, or a key digging into my thigh when in my pocket.

Works well, but no instructions
I have never had this type of key before, OEM or otherwise. As such, I have never had to open, dismantle, or change a battery in this type of remote. Everything is pretty straight-forward, EXCEPT for “winding” the spring before you put it all back together, otherwise the key does not flip-out with the button press. This took some time and learning. Otherwise, functions well and seems well made. I am little nervous about only one tiny screw holding the remote together.

Fits with the stock transmitter
Feels like the plastic is cheaply made. Otherwise it is good for what i needed at the moment.

Works great!
Happy with my purchase. Got the key cut at my local home depot and then transferred the transponder from my toyota key (dot version) and it works. Look up videos on youtube on how to cut open toyota key to get to the transponder. The keyecu key has a tiny slot inside to put the transponder. I just glued it in place.
